Missing Flight 370

2020.09.24 05:39 nickhintonn333 Missing Flight 370

Missing Flight 370
On March 13, 2018, a twitter user who went by the name strayedaway, or Ty, posted a thread about a creepy voicemail he received regarding the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. The thread went viral and many more people came out claiming to have received the same one.. This prompted people all over the internet to get involved and help solve the mystery. However, there was never a real conclusion, and after receiving an overwhelming amount of publicity and even death threats, Ty and many others linked to the thread deactivated their accounts. Many people claim the whole thing was an elaborate hoax or even an alternate reality game, but I am not satisfied with those answers. Ty’s thread and the bizarre disappearance of MH370 still linger in the back of my mind to this day.
https://www.news.com.au/technology/online/creepy-military-voicemail-warning-of-impending-doomsday-sends-internet-into-meltdown/news-story/afe34f8dce8d48a0269cd925838743e8
For those who are unaware, MH370 was an international flight that disappeared on March 8, 2014 while flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. The voicemail Ty received 4 years later was an SOS message thought to be recorded on the missing plane’s black box. Some said solar flares happening around that time may have allowed the message to be picked up by cellphones. Solar flares cause electromagnetic pulses in the atmosphere, so with increased electromagnetic activity, signals would have been amplified and had a farther range.
https://www.sciencealert.com/no-massive-solar-storm-headed-to-earth-march-2018-noaa-g1
The voicemail was a recording of a robotic voice speaking in military code. After twitter investigators deciphered it, they discovered a chilling warning about aliens followed by a string of numbers that turned out to be coordinates close to the place MH370 vanished from radar. Besides the voicemail, there are many more oddities surrounding this event and there seems to be a synchronistic pattern hiding in plane sight. Flight 370, a Boeing 777, left on the 7th day of the 3rd month and Malaysia Airlines is said to fly nearly 37,000 passengers daily.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-26492748#:~:text=Malaysia%27s%20national%20carrier%20is%20one,Jennifer%20Pak%20in%20Kuala%20Lumpur.
The television show Lost seemed to predict the event as well, 10 years before it happened. In the show, a Boeing 777 deviates from its path, turns around, and disappears somewhere off the coast of Australia. This is exactly what MH370 did. The show also seemed to predict who would be on the plane. In Lost, some of the passengers included an actor and two men who used fake passports. On MH370, there was an actor and two men who used fake passports as well.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/iran/10688861/Mystery-fake-passport-holders-on-flight-MH370-were-Iranian.html
https://www.thestar.com.my/lifestyle/uncategorized/2014/03/13/marco-polo-stuntman-and-jet-lis-body-double-ju-kun-was-also-on-flight-mh370/
The actor was Ju Kun, Jet Li's body double, and fake identities were used by two Iranian men seeking asylum in Europe. Oddly enough, in Lost, a psychic predicts the plane crash. MH370‘s disappearance also seemed to be predicted by the Nigerian prophet T. B. Joshua. In 2013, T. B. Joshua warned that an aircraft carrying over 200 passengers from an Asian nation would have some serious problems. MH370 had 227 passengers on board. The video of his proclamation went viral on YouTube after the flight’s disappearance.
https://emmanuel.tv/content/missing-malaysia-airlines-mh370-prophecy-tb-joshua/
Another strange synchronicity is Lost was first aired on September 22, 2004. September 22 would turn out to be big day for CERN, exactly 7 years later. If you‘re unaware, CERN is a facility that smashes atoms together to create mini black holes and look for other dimensions. On September 22, 2011, CERN succeeded in sending particles faster than the speed of light. Physicists hypothesize that going faster than light speed could actually result in time travel. However, the claim was supposedly debunked sometime later. But this is still up for debate.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faster-than-light_neutrino_anomaly
But what I find most strange, is the fact that the man who made this discovery was forced to resign. Conspiracy theorists claim CERN did in fact achieve time travel and caused the past to change, a phenomenon known as the Mandela Effect. They say this historical event constantly switches back and forth between having happened on the 22nd or 23rd. Supposedly, every year around this time, new inconsistencies in history pop up.
https://www.alternatememories.com/historical-events/general/september-22-23-date-anomalies
Ironically, the plot of Lost is centered around a time travel experiment called the Dharma Initiative. In The Lost Experience, it’s revealed that the goal of the experiment was for people to alter the timeline and push back doomsday. Oddly enough, its logo looks just like CERN.
CERN compared to the Dharma Initiative's logo
Coincidentally, The Lost Experience was an alternate reality game. Remember that the voicemail received by Ty was thought to be part of an ARG as well. Similarly, the investigation sparked by Ty’s thread uncovered the date of a supposed doomsday event, April 18, 2018. Many speculated that on this day there would be an alien invasion. Obviously this didn’t happen, but perhaps uncovering the plan pushed back doomsday, like in the Lost game. With UFOs now in the news, the idea of an alien invasion or apocalyptic event seems even more relevant. If you’ve read my other threads, you know I think the apocalypse has something do with something known as the Black Sun. Oddly enough, MH370 also has connections to this concept. The Black Sun is a symbol that some say represents a portal to somewhere beyond space and time. This strange mural dedicated to the disappearance of MH370 depicts the plane flying straight into something resembling a black hole. The portal seems to be luring the passengers inside by telling them to come in.
\"Come in!!\"
Another mural seems to depict this as well. In this picture, we see a plane flying right into what appears to be a tear in the fabric of reality. Yet another mural shows the missing flight returning through one. Were the passengers of MH370 taken to another dimension?
Some questionable murals
This all seems reminiscent of Donnie Darko, a movie about doomsday, time travel, and a plane falling through a black hole in the sky. Just like in Lost, the main character, who is guided by a demonic humanoid rabbit, is tasked with closing a time loop and stopping the apocalypse. The Black Sun is also symbolic of Saturn, which was known to the ancients as the god of time. Saturn is also famous for having a hexagon on its North Pole. In the painting below, we see MH370 trapped behind a net of hexagons. Were the passengers victims of a Saturnian ritual?
A literal hex on MH370?
Even stranger, in Man of Steel, a trident shaped UFO that resembles the Malaysian Airlines logo crashes off the coast of Australia, just like MH370 did. The movie shows the coordinates of the UFO being 37° S 76° E. Here we see more numerology at work. But it gets weirder. If you type in the opposite coordinates, 37° N 76° W, you get the location of King Neptune‘s Park on Virginia Beach. At the park there is a statue of King Neptune holding a trident. The streets leading up to the park, which are adjacent to 33rd Street, form a trident as well.
Just a coincidence?
Okay, these 'coincidences' are getting a little out of hand.
Ironically, Virginia Beach is an hour drive from Middlesex, the town where Donnie Darko takes place. In Mission Impossible III, another movie centered around chasing a white rabbit, there’s a scene where the Malaysian Airlines logo can be seen from behind, revealing a hidden 666.
Do you see?!
The same exact scene was also used in the movie Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The movie is about sun harvesting robots who reside on one of Saturn’s moons. I find it odd they reused the same footage for two films released roughly 3 years apart.
Hmmm...
The area MH370 went missing was also near one of the 12 Vile Vortices. The Vile Vortices are anomalous regions where the planet’s electromagnetic field is thought to be stronger than usual. The regions are known for UFO activity and strange disappearances of boats and planes. The Devil’s Triangle, better known as The Bermuda Triangle, is one of the most famous Vile Vortices. Oddly enough, on the exact opposite side of the globe, is the region MH370 disappeared. Are these two places somehow connected?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivan_T._Sanderson
The Bermuda Triangle (right) and the area MH370 went missing (left)
All these connections could be nothing more than a coincidence, but I find them too profound to dismiss. I believe the matrix speaks to us in symbols and I believe it is trying to tell us what really happened to MH370. There is still a lot more to this story and it involves the rabbit symbolism I mentioned briefly. I’ve written about the white rabbit and it’s connection to time travel before, but maybe I will do a part 2 where I go into it in more detail another time. Anyways, as always, thanks for reading.

2020.09.19 17:51 reddodo2 I'm (M22) interested in a girl but I never asked someone out before.

A tl;dr at the end.
I'll start with some background. First I'd like to say I never dated anyone, I was never interested to begin with, the closest I got into having a relationship with someone was when there was this store clerk that was interested in me and I never realized or cared at the time, then she realized she's older than me and lost interest.
I never cared about relationships until 2 years ago where I befriended a really nice girl online, and after months, I realized she started dating one of my friends and then i found out I developed feelings for her that i wasn't aware of until it was too late.
Since then I've thought about a lot of things my mindset towards dating has changed, and I'm willing to give it a go.
Now there's a girl working as a waitress in a Cafe I like and she has my attention, and I wanna ask her out. She's been very warm and welcoming.
Now I know normally I would just go and ask her out, and I don't have much fear of embarrassment but there's something that's stopping me, I live in Iran, and one thing about the society over here is that males and females are forced to be separated in pretty much every point in life, so a lot of us don't get to meet someone of the opposite sex that we might be attracted to, unless we were already acquainted in someway before. Which has created this "invisible" guard between us that makes it harder to approach each other, and since I never had experience with dating to begin with, I have no idea how to approach her.
Tl;Dr there's a waitress at a Cafe that I'm interested in, but I have no experience in dating and I live in a society that has been forced to keep the opposite sexes away from each other.

2020.09.19 12:38 hassandokht Top 10 online entrance examination classes Introduction, comparison and price (1400 entrance examination update)

Introduction, comparison and price of the top 10 online entrance exam classes for the 1400 entrance exam
Every day, more and more students are moving to online entrance exam classes. But really, what is the reason for so much acceptance of online classrooms by institutions, professors and students? Are Internet classes useful? Are the returns of these classes like the game of face-to-face classes? Wouldn't it be better for students to be in the classroom directly and learn face to face with the teacher? Of course, sometimes there are criticisms like this, why are all the good facilities for Tehranians? Why should other cities be unaware of the education of Tehranians? Can't the teachers of good schools and colleges in Tehran go to other cities? Let us answer these questions one by one in the rest of this article

In the online entrance exam school, you will be present in the virtual classroom, you will talk live with the teacher, the assignments and exams will be followed seriously, and you can access the class from anywhere in the world.

As an educational activist and entrance exam counselor, I witnessed online classes before 1997. Prior to this year, most educational packages were made available to students in the form of videotapes or DVDs, and were not very successful.

In the academic year leading up to the 98th entrance exam, the acceptance of absentee classes increased significantly. So that in face-to-face and in-person counseling, a number of kids kept asking me if a certain teacher was good in the classroom? Is Tom Land better or Clasino? Isn't it better to go online instead of face-to-face class? And…

But the Corona crisis, which before the 99th entrance exam, was a unique opportunity for the 99th entrance exam classes! People who were unfamiliar with the online class or did not even agree at all with online education; They had to use and enjoy it. Corona questioned the old rule, and many individuals and teachers were forced to change course.

Given the interest, familiarity and use of the young and up-to-date generation, as well as increasing the penetration of the Internet in life, the popularity of online classes for children will certainly increase in the coming years.

Dr. Moinuddin, part of the article "Corona Crisis and Opportunity Building in Online Education"
To answer the many questions that have been asked, we must accept the fact that students are becoming more and more interested in online classes. But what are the advantages of online classes over face-to-face classes? In the following article, we will discuss the benefits of online classes:

Advantages of online entrance exam classes:
1- Access from all over the world
Online class caused educational justice to be observed in the true sense of the word. In previous years, the best teachers and the best educational services were present in Tehran, but now, thanks to the Internet, students in disadvantaged areas have the least facilities with a mobile phone, tablet or personal computer. They can use the online classes of the best entrance exam professors. All students anywhere in Iran can attend the class with internet access. It does not matter if, for example, the best professor of mathematics in Iran comes to your city and holds a conference or a class or not! Wherever you are in Iran, your distance from the right class is just one click.

You can not fall behind the class schedule while traveling and the online world has all kinds of air for you! Wherever you travel, just take your mobile phone or laptop with you.

2- Lower cost:
One of the main advantages of online classes is that they cost less than face-to-face classes. Certainly not every choice is cost effective, but we are talking about institutions and professors who are the brands of Tehran and the best professors in their city. The cost of attending the classes of one of the professors of the Tehran brand for a private meeting is definitely very, very high. In some cases, a meeting costs one million tomans or two million tomans. If you can choose online classes, you can pay much more for this. Of course, I emphasize again that the professors you choose must be well-known professors and brands.

From another point of view, it is not more economical for entrance exam schools to hold online classes. Firstly, they pay for the event and space and space. Secondly, the school has no restrictions on enrollment and can hold a 100-person class with much lower tuition instead of a 20-person high-tuition class.

3- Save travel time:
Time is of the essence for a college student. Aside from the cost savings of a Minecraft student, it is one of the greatest benefits of online classes. When you used to work hard, the daily traffic to other classes and face-to-face schools was reduced to zero. Your parents are no longer supposed to take you to class and school. With online classes, you can add to your entrance exam time.

4- Comfort and peace of mind
It doesn't matter what you wear to class or your hair is messy or your face is not watery. It does not matter anymore because in online classes, comfort and conditions are completely in the student's interest.

5- Ability to review and repeat the class
Students who use online or offline classes can always review the classes and learn the lessons several times, each time more accurately, as if the tutor were at home and you have the opportunity to repeat the lessons. This is difficult to do in face-to-face classes

6- Relaxation while learning
The main concern of students and teachers in face-to-face classes is that people with the same level of knowledge are not present

2020.09.15 05:21 DnDnDogs 32 [M4F] Austin TX or anywhere - Lifelong player 2 and best friend

Hello! My name is Michael. I'm 32. Where to start? I think it's important to know where someone is coming from before anything else. I've done my best to be a good person all of my life. If I found myself drifting towards anything bad or wrong, I'd shut myself down. I walked away from several groups of friends in my life and found peace in video games. Funny enough, that hurt me, too. I spent a few years of my life quitting jobs over online games. Very destructive. For the last 7 years or so I've worked hard to better myself and accept myself. It can get lonely without games and without friends, so that's where dogs and D&D come in.
Adopting my dog, Hiva, helped a lot (@hivapup on Instagram) He's a 3-legged golden boy from Iran. He was in a car accident. I went to an adoption shelter in NY to meet a different dog who had diabetes, but she was taken and I asked to see this guy. He immediately ran to me and pushed me into an elevator. I learned that tripod dogs are healthier if they run instead of walk, since so much stress is put on their joint if they have to take small steps on one leg... so I ran with him. I lost a lot of weight. We haven't had a walk in 2 years where we don't run for at least half of it. I like to be uncompromising in things I dedicate myself to, especially if it's for the comfort or happiness of another. I want to share things like that with someone important, too. I'm a pretty reserved guy who sometimes doubts his own feelings, so I express myself best by being present and as reliable as I can be.
For me, I would love to find a person I can share my interests with. I'm the type of person who wanders around the living room many times a day to check on and spend time with my dog and will tell whoever I bump into (family, roommates, etc) about a recent dog walk, the neighborhood, news or something cool or interesting or funny I saw online. I'll send videos of funny .gifs once in a while. I'm not a huge texter, but I try. I'm pretty nerdy, so I'd love to find someone I can encourage to watch whatever new (or old) anime I'm into at any given time. Same with Netflix shows. I'd love to find a person who thinks it could be fun to play D&D together in quarantine situations rather than find excuses to avoid it. There should always be ways to enjoy each others company and creativity in a friendship or relationship that you hope to grow. It would be great if we had a game we both liked to play together once in a while, too. I'm into anything from Overwatch to GTA to Kirby.
What else. Logistics? I don't check Reddit super often, so maybe I'll try to pass on my phone number for texting after a couple of DMs so we don't forget about each other before we get to chatting. I'm brand new to TX and it's very hot for my dog, so I'm open to relocating for the right person possibly, especially further North or in cooler areas. I don't know what my weight is, but I can now wear a 32 inch waist. I'm probably around 200 lbs. I'm 5'11"... I'll add some pics: Pre-quarantine Me & Me from 8/31/2020 Please note, just like most humans looking to date, pics get my attention more than text alone! Good luck to all. I hope we all find what we're looking for.

2020.09.11 10:46 RebornInLife Prophecies of Edgar Cayce

Prophecies of Edgar Cayce
Edgar Cayce (/ˈkeɪsiː/; March 18, 1877 – January 3, 1945) was an American clairvoyant who claimed to channel a "Source" to answer questions on subjects as varied as healing, reincarnation, dreams, the afterlife, past-life, nutrition, Atlantis, and future events while in a self-induced sleep state. Cayce proposed that his subconscious mind would explore the dream realm where all subconscious minds are timelessly connected. Cayce founded a nonprofit organization, the Association for Research and Enlightenment, to store and facilitate the study of the Cayce material. A biographer gave him the nickname The Sleeping Prophet.
Until September 1923, his readings were not systematically recorded or preserved. However, an article published in the Birmingham Post-Herald on October 10, 1922, quotes Cayce as saying that he had given 8,056 readings as of that date and it is known that he gave approximately 13,000–14,000 readings after that date. A total of 14,306 are available at the A.R.E. Cayce headquarters in Virginia Beach and on an online, member-only section along with background information, correspondence, and follow-up documentation.
Other abilities that have been attributed to Cayce include astral projection, prophesying, mediumship, viewing the Akashic records or "Book of Life", and seeing auras. Cayce said he became interested in learning more about these subjects after he was informed about the content of his readings, which he reported that he never actually heard himself.

Supporters
Cayce's clients included a number of famous people such as Woodrow Wilson, Thomas Edison, Irving Berlin, and George Gershwin.
Gina Cerminara published books such as Many Mansions and The World Within. Brian Weiss published a bestseller regarding clinical recollection of past lives, Many Lives, Many Masters. These books provide broad support for spiritualism and reincarnation. Many Mansions elaborates on Cayce's work and supports his stated abilities with real life examples.
In 1971 Edgar Cayce's sons Edgar Evans Cayce and Hugh Lynn Cayce published a book titled The Outer Limits of Edgar Cayce's Power,[70] claiming Cayce's readings had an approximate 85% success rate. The majority of the book investigated cases where Cayce's readings were demonstrably incorrect.

Will our lifespan, as human beings, be extended?
We know that humans are now living longer than at the time of Edgar Cayce, but his readings seem to indicate that a healthy human lifespan would extend years beyond that which we are currently living.
“Now, we find there are many changes in the body since we have had this – many for good. Many of the organs and the conditions show the changes as come about by the natural, or so called natural conditions in changes as the body succumbs to the effects of age or usage in the system. Much of this may be overcome. (Man should live much longer than has been ordinarily given – and will!)” -- Edgar Cayce reading 244-2
Will we discover the design for a self-fueling perpetual-motion machine?
Perhaps with the current focus on renewable resources and energy conservation, we will see this next prophecy come to pass in our lifetimes.
“You will have before you the gasless motor invented by [4666]. “Edgar Cayce: Yes, we have the body and enquiring mind of [4666], also the associations and those conditions surrounding the perfection of motor which will develop power in its own action. As has been given, the idea and the plans as have been worked out in part along those lines that pull more of the power as produced in compression in drum, with the leads made in these forms that gather vibrations from the air as is forced through drum, are, as we find, the better application of the created energy. In the cams [as] have been used too much slack or play is allowed in their rotation. This is in the drum’s head action that these must be shortened in play. “The connection of [195] and [900] with same – best that these have [4666]’s operations closer under their observations when the completed product is near attained. “(Q) How may we bring him under our observation? (A) Bring him to … Ohio or N.Y. “(Q) Is this machine the same as brought to Washington now by Lindbergh? [Charles A. Lindbergh] (A) No. As is here, the [4666] machine would operate on stationary conditions impelling forces; even for now that in gas motors – for, as tested by others, has more to do with that thrown in air and gaining its impelling force from that source. (Q) Would it operate perpetually if perfected? (A) Not perpetually, but once started could be kept in motion by created energy of its own source. Other has to have some source of impellation.” -- Edgar Cayce reading 4665-1
Conflict in the Persian Gulf
“…As is understood by many, in the earth manifestation and the cycle of time much repeats itself … There are still influences indicated in the lives of groups banded as nations, banded as peoples, still influenced by those happenings. What then, ye ask, is the influence that makes for this great change that may be expected? The powers of light and darkness, as then, as sixteen hundred (1600) years before. As in those periods, so today – we find nation against nation; the powers of death, destruction, the wrecking of that which has been and is held near and dear to the hearts of those who have through one form or another set ideals. These are not to be questioned, in that as may be a helpful force; but what is coming to pass? And how may ye as individuals help? … Strifes will arise through the period. Watch for them near Davis Strait in the attempts there for the keeping of the life line to a land open. Watch for them in Libya and in Egypt, in Ankara and in Syria, through the straits about those areas above Australia, in the Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf.” -- Edgar Cayce reading 3976-26
Is a New “Root Race” Evolving?
The Edgar Cayce information suggests that humanity’s consciousness has evolved and expanded over time. Cayce stated that this expansion of consciousness could be viewed throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. From the readings perspective the next great evolution would be tied to the development of what Cayce termed “the fifth root race.” An evolutionary occurrence that would mark a New Age and a new understanding of humanity’s relationship to God:
When a 52-year-old construction engineer asked about this expanding consciousness in 1942, Cayce commented that each individual had to essentially work with personal soul development in order to resonate to that new consciousness: “You expect a new root race. What are you doing to prepare for it? You must prepare food for their bodies as well as their minds and their spiritual development!” -- Edgar Cayce reading 470-35 Ten years earlier, during a reading on the Great Pyramid in Egypt, Cayce suggested that an ancient “Hall of Records” would be discovered at a time signifying the manifestation of this new level of consciousness. -- Edgar Cayce reading 5748-6
Will the Three Halls of Records Be Discovered?
According to the readings, the people of Atlantis became aware of the fact that their civilization was about to be destroyed. As a result, they hid identical records of the Atlantean civilization in Bimini, in Egypt and in the Yucatan. Numerous readings contend that this Hall of Records will be discovered, including:
(Q) Give in detail what the sealed room contains (A) A record of Atlantis from the beginnings of those periods when the Spirit took form or began the encasements in that land, and the developments of the peoples throughout their sojourn, with the record of the first destruction and the changes that took place in the land... This in position lies, as the sun rises from the waters, the line of the shadow (or light) falls between the paws of the Sphinx, that was later set as the sentinel or guard, and which may not be entered from the connecting chambers from the Sphinx's paw (right paw) until the TIME has been fulfilled when the changes must be active in this sphere of man's experience. Between, then, the Sphinx and the river.” -- Edgar Cayce reading 378-16 (Q) In which pyramid or temple are the records mentioned in the readings given through this channel on Atlantis, in April, 1932? (A) As given, that temple was destroyed at the time there was the last destruction in Atlantis. Yet, as time draws nigh when changes are to come about, there may be the opening of those three places where the records are one, to those that are the initiates in the knowledge of the One God: The temple by Iltar will then rise again. Also there will be the opening of the temple or hall of records in Egypt, and those records that were put into the heart of the Atlantean land may also be found there - that have been kept, for those that are of that group. The RECORDS are ONE. -- Edgar Cayce reading 5750-1
What is the shape of the world to come?
Decades before the rest of the world was thinking about the enormous impact that China would have upon the global stage, Edgar Cayce predicted great things for China and its people. On one occasion, Cayce told a group of people that eventually China would become “the cradle of Christianity, as applied in the lives of men.” -- Edgar Cayce reading 3976-29
This suggests the personal application of spiritual principles would become paramount to the Chinese people. Cayce then went on to caution that it would take a long time to manifest but that it was the country’s destiny: “Yea, it is far off as man counts time, but only a day in the heart of God – for tomorrow China will awake.”
On another occasion, when a thirty-six-year-old book publisher asked about the destiny of China in 1943, just prior to his own trip to the country to serve in the capacity of a missionary, Cayce promised amazing changes in the country that would lead to more democracy and greater religious freedom. He also suggested that eventually the height of civilization would move from the West to the Chinese people: “And these will progress. For, civilization moves west.” -- Edgar Cayce reading 2834-3
Will There Be a Second Coming?
The Cayce readings had much to say about the life of Jesus—covering the “lost” years that were never addressed in the Bible. But Cayce also spoke of Jesus’ return and here is an excerpt on that subject:
“What is meant by “the day of the Lord is near at hand”? (A) That as has been promised through the prophets and the sages of old, the time – and half time – has been and is being fulfilled in this day and generation, and that soon there will again appear in the earth that one through whom many will be called to meet those that are preparing the way for His day in the earth. The Lord, then, will come, ‘even as ye have seen him go.’” -- Edgar Cayce reading 262-49

Prophecies and predictions of Edgar Cayce. Cayce foresaw world events that can only be described as apocalyptic, a period of purification involving natural disasters that will dramatically alter the surface of the Earth, wars, economic collapse, and socio-political unrest. Cayce said that these future events could be averted if humanity changed its behavior. Cayce would repeatedly say that even the Lord of Lords could not accurately predict future events because human free will can alter and change the future. Cayce is referring to the Biblical account when Jesus is asked when he would return. His reply was: “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father”. (Matt. 24:36)

THE YEAR THE BATTLE OF ARMAGEDDON WILL OCCUR IN THE SPIRIT REALM
Cayce predicted that the so-called “Battle of Armageddon” described symbolically in the Bible would begin in 1999. Cayce foresaw that this “battle” will not be a war fought on Earth. Rather, it will be a spiritual struggle between the “higher forces of light” and “lower forces of darkness” for 1000 years of Earth time. The reason for this struggle is to prevent souls from lower afterlife realms from reincarnating to Earth. By preventing souls from the lower afterlife realms from reincarnating to Earth, only enlightened souls will be permitted to reincarnate. The result will be 1000 years of building a world of peace and enlightenment. After 1000 years, souls from lower afterlife realms will be permitted once again to reincarnate to Earth. By this time, the so-called “kingdom of heaven” will have been established on Earth.

THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF A WORLD WAR III
Cayce foresaw the possibility of a third world war. He spoke of strife arising near the Davis Straits, and in Libya, and in Egypt, in Ankara, and in Syria; through the straits around those areas above Australia, in the Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf. Given the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and the tensions in Iran, Turkey/Syria and the Middle East right now, such a war could certainly be a possibility. Since the Middle East unrest and the war against Libya this prophecy stands in the picture, this is the proof that Edgar Cayce really had a vision about this third world war, but it can still be stopped ! Like all prophets say : The future can always be changed by humanity, God gave them a free will !!!

THE YEAR OF THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST
Edgar Cayce often maintained that humanity would soon experience a “day of reckoning.” He predicted the year of the second coming of Jesus to be 1998. Critics who are not very familiar with the Cayce material have pointed out that 1998 has come and gone and the second coming has not occurred. Such critics wrongly expect the second coming to happen when Jesus appears in the sky with a chorus of angels while Gabriel blows a horn and dead bodies crawl out of their graves.

This idea of the resurrection was the result of a misunderstanding of the concept of reincarnation – the ancient concept of birth and rebirth. A new field of science will be developed based on a psychic/spiritual phenomenon Cayce predicted in September, 1939, that when there is the same interest or study given to things or phases of mental and spiritual phenomena as has been and is given to the materialized or material phenomena, then it will become just as practical, as measurable, as meter-able, as any other phase of human experience. Cayce did not specify a time frame, he specified a condition, placing as much research emphasis on the spiritual/occult phenomena as material causation. It would be nice to think that Cayce was referring to near-death research which would fit the description of the science he is referring to. Until we know more in the future, we will have to assume that this prediction is still pending.

A NEW DISCOVERY IN ASTRONOMY WILL OCCUR
Cayce provided a major clue that astronomers have not yet taken up: the discovery of the revolution of the solar system around a star system composed of Arcturus and the Pleiades. Major archeological discoveries concerning human origins will be found. Cayce predicted that there will be three profound archeological discoveries of a very ancient and important nature that will revolutionalize the way we understand human origins, cosmology and religion. Cayce stated that this will occur when humanity reaches a higher level of spirituality. The three repositories mentioned are in Egypt (near the Great Pyramid), the Bimini area (where the possible portion of Atlantis has already been discovered), and the Yucatan (the location where the asteroid that killed off the dinosaurs).

VOLCANIC ACTIVITY WILL PROCEED MAJOR EARTHQUAKES
If there are greater activities in [the volcanoes] Vesuvius or Pelee, then the southern coast of California and the areas between Salt Lake and the southern portions of Nevada, we may expect, within the three months following same, inundation by the earthquakes. But these are to be more in the Southern than the Northern Hemisphere.

AMERICA’S WEST COAST WILL BE DESTROYED
The widespread destruction in Los Angeles and San Francisco as well as in many portions of the west coast will occur. Earth changes will occur in the central portion of the United States as well. NDE researcher Dr. Ken Ring discovered that many near-death accounts he was studying foretell future Earth changes such as earthquakes, volcanoes, a pole shift, strange weather patterns, droughts, pandemics, famines, tidal waves and a new social order followed by a golden age. These NDE visions of the future agree completely with the Cayce predictions described below.

THE OCEAN LEVEL WILL RISE SIGNIFICANTLY
With the shifting of the Earth’s magnetic poles that began in 1998 will come a gradual melting of the polar ice caps and eventually cause inundations of many coastal regions resulting in a drop in the landmass of about 30 feet. In 1941, Cayce elaborated on this effect: “As to conditions in the geography of the world, of the country — changes here are gradually coming about … For, many portions of the east coast will be disturbed, as well as many portions of the west coast, as well as the central portion of the U.S. In the next few years land will appear in the Atlantic as well as in the Pacific. And what is the coast line now of many a land will be the bed of the ocean. Even many battle fields of the present will be ocean, will be the seas, the bays, the lands over which The New World Order will carry on their trade as one with another.

2020.09.11 00:24 TheRazorX ...in which civilian oversight is now a bad thing "Cause Trump"

I rarely post essays.
As someone who's lived in other parts of the world, I've been watching events unfold with a severe dread that surpasses Trump's worst desires (or projected desires).
The thing I fear, is not Trump "winning, it's not Biden "Winning", it's not even directly related to the election itself, rather it's summarized in Friedrich Nietzsche's famous quote;
He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And if you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you.
This quote while widespread is often ignored or dismissed as a side point, however I've long since come to the conclusion that the intense polarization is intended as a feature not a bug, and Trump is just merely a tool in the plan that has been underway for decades.
We've reached the point where BOTH Republicans AND Democrats (speaking of actual regular voters, not politicians or bots, or those minorities on either side that were already "extremists");
Myself and thousands of others that have traveled or lived in "less free" parts of the world have constantly warned of the similarities of the "But Trump" Boogeyman strategy, and of the dangers of this strategy coming to fruition, people from those regions have spoken the warnings clearly in English and of course we're ridiculed attacked and most importantly ignored.. Because "it can't happen here". Furthermore, the truth is, we've seen many "Trumps" before in recent times.
Anyone that has ever looked at any "Authoritarian" country, recognizes a very simple fact; People enable and allow said tyranny. Consent of the Governed is in fact given to both Democratic leaders and Authoritarian leaders.
In each and every one of these countries, no matter how despicable their leaders, they always manage to find support out of a fear of one or many "Boogeymen". In MENA, the holy trinity of Boogeymen is; The USA, Israel, The Muslim Brotherhood. And depending on which part of MENA, either Iran/Saudi.
Anything and everything wrong with the country, is the fault of one of those Boogeymen, and as a result quite a few people will hate their leaders openly, know they're corrupt thieves, murderers, pedophiles...etc but still back them because at least they're "protecting us from X". They'll be outraged at whatever crime the regime commits against the people, but willingly eat up the pro-regime propaganda because "They were trouble makers that deserved it" or "They were agents of Israel/USA" or "This is a plot by Israel/USA/Iran/Saudi"..etc. The list goes on and on and on. So much so that a common "twisting" of Karl Marx's adage on religion is "Israel is the Opiate of the Arabs", a concept naturally twisted by pro-Israel parties to deflect away from Israel's actual crimes, using typical "Whataboutism"
Sound familiar?
There's no doubt those "Boogeymen" are scary and regularly commit crimes. But the fact that someone commits crimes, has never ever meant that others have not themselves committed crimes. But they want you to think that, or even worse, they want the crimes of said Boogeymen to excuse the crimes of those in their own tribes.
There's a very real reason the astroturfing efforts are focused on "So you want Trump to win?" and "So you're voting for Trump?" type messages when trying to "convince" voters to back Biden that are skeptical. So much so, they haven't even bothered to pretend otherwise. They want binary.
There's a very very VERY good reason that Bernie said we need a global progressive front, and that Yanis Varoufakis agreed., What we're seeing happen in the USA, we saw before in multiple countries. They understand that with corporate authoritarian power going multinational and coordinating on an international basis, we need an international front to fight it, and not just focus on "local" stuff, because as I'm trying to point out, you end up seeing the same tactics happen elsewhere because even those that bother to pay cursory attention think or say "it can't happen here", or more importantly, even if they do understand the possibility of it "happening here" only see it in the light of tribalism, where only "The other" is willing or capable to bring it to fruition.
We're now at the point where civilian oversight of an election is considered a "bad thing" by "Liberals", "cause Drumpf", this isn't the first (or even last) time I've heard something similar. For example, it's anecdotal, but a friend reported once that during a conversation, a very liberal and otherwise "normal" but very "Dem" co-worker mentioned that she found it "extremely creepy" that a Bernie supporter was video taping her counting votes at a precinct in 2016 when she was a volunteer poll worker. She obviously wasn't a Bernie fan.

That is the bigger threat, that is the bigger "goal" that you can easily trace going back to 1971 or even 1933. This is the culmination of everything, including Trump and the Pied Piper strategy (A strategy they continue to repeat even though we've already seen and felt the real results of it on actual people, specifically the most disadvantaged); To effectively and gradually "guide" the populace into accepting tyranny and fascism, either out of exploiting their fears, or out of giving them a sense of self righteousness in which suppressing "the other" is for a "righteous cause" or "the greater good". They've slowly convinced a large group of people across political ideologies that "Stability is more important than Freedom", Something we've seen said before by Trump's "Favorite Dictator", causing a perception shift here in the USA that we're seeing happen in real time., largely mirroring the sentiment in "non-free" countries

You're either with us, or against us is now the rallying cry across the board.. one we've heard before even here in the USA, a message that when last we heard it, it was used to justify one of the worst crimes of the modern era
The intense polarization of America along acceptance of authoritarian tolerance is a feature, not a bug. To quote the pinned tweet of one of the aforementioned accounts;
“The junk merchant doesn't sell his product to the consumer, he sells the consumer to his product. He does not improve and simplify his merchandise. He degrades and simplifies the client.”
~William S. Burroughs, Naked Lunch
Multiple studies from reputable sources have sounded the alarm that faith in democracy is fading fast, but once again, no one is listening, even when "Liberal" favorites talk about it.
To give you an example of what I mean, folks wanting the government to "verify" news (to combat fake news), completely forget (or intentionally omit) the fact that the very same laws they're recommending have already been implemented in multiple countries and only benefit the ruling regime, who use them as just another tool to silence dissident. Furthermore, there are other methods of combating disinformation that don't erode civil liberties., but we rarely hear about them in public discourse, the choice we're always given is "Give up this right, or suffer the consequences".
And a crucial but (intentionally?) overlooked fact on the free-speech debate, starts cutting through all the fog;
“Constitutional protection should be accorded only to speech that is explicitly political,” he wrote. “There is no basis for judicial intervention to protect any other form of expression, be it scientific, literary or that variety of expression we call obscene or pornographic.”
But a transformative ruling by the Supreme Court five years later began to change that thinking. The case, a challenge to a state law that banned advertising the prices of prescription drugs, was filed by Public Citizen, a consumer rights group founded by Ralph Nader. The group argued that the law hurt consumers, and helped persuade the court, in Virginia State Board of Pharmacy v. Virginia Citizens Consumer Council, to protect advertising and other commercial speech.
The only dissent in the decision came from Justice William H. Rehnquist, the court’s most conservative member.
Kathleen M. Sullivan, a former dean of Stanford Law School, wrote that it did not take long for corporations to see the opportunities presented by the decision.
“While the case was litigated by consumer protection advocates,” she wrote in the Harvard Law Review, “corporate speakers soon became the principal beneficiaries of subsequent rulings that, for example, struck down restrictions on including alcohol content on beer can labels, limitations on outdoor tobacco advertising near schools and rules governing how compounded drugs may be advertised.”
That trend has continued, with businesses mounting First Amendment challenges to gun control laws, securities regulations, country-of-origin labels, graphic cigarette warnings and limits on off-label drug marketing.
“I was a bit queasy about it because I had the sense that we were unleashing something, but nowhere near what happened,” Mr. Nader said. “It was one of the biggest boomerangs in judicial cases ever.”
“I couldn’t be Merlin,” he added. “We never thought the judiciary would be as conservative or corporate. This was an expansion that was not preordained by doctrine. It was preordained by the political philosophies of judges.”
Not all of the liberal scholars and lawyers who helped create modern First Amendment law are disappointed. Martin Redish, a law professor at Northwestern University, who wrote a seminal 1971 article proposing First Amendment protection for commercial speech, said he was pleased with the Roberts court’s decisions.
“Its most important contributions are in the commercial speech and corporate speech areas,” he said. “It’s a workmanlike, common sense approach.”
Liberals also played a key role in creating modern campaign finance law in Buckley v. Valeo, the 1976 decision that struck down limits on political spending by individuals and was the basis for Citizens United, the 2010 decision that did away with similar limits for corporations and unions.
One plaintiff was Senator Eugene J. McCarthy, Democrat of Minnesota, who had challenged President Lyndon B. Johnson in the 1968 presidential primaries — from the left. Another was the American Civil Liberties Union’s New York affiliate.
Professor Neuborne, a former A.C.L.U. lawyer, said he now regrets the role he played in winning the case. “I signed the brief in Buckley,” he said. “I’m going to spend long amounts of time in purgatory.”
To Professor Seidman, cases like these were part of what he describes as a right-wing takeover of the First Amendment since the liberal victories in the years Chief Justice Earl Warren led the Supreme Court.
“With the receding of Warren court liberalism, free-speech law took a sharp right turn,” Professor Seidman wrote in a new article to be published in the Columbia Law Review. “Instead of providing a shield for the powerless, the First Amendment became a sword used by people at the apex of the American hierarchy of power. Among its victims: proponents of campaign finance reform, opponents of cigarette addiction, the L.B.G.T.Q. community, labor unions, animal rights advocates, environmentalists, targets of hate speech and abortion providers.
Yet, almost all the discourse in free speech debates/"Cancel culture" is focused on anything EXCEPT the corporate aspect, and naturally ignores the only groups actually and truly at a disadvantage.. Joy Ann Reid's was never "cancelled" for her Islamophobia, bigotry, racism, antisemitism...etc , but was rather rewarded with a prime time show, and many of the same "liberals" applaud her regularly.
And obviously on the Right, none of them are "Cancelled" for any obvious transgressions.
It starts getting clearer when you realize what types of people are "agreeing" with each other on the subject, and who certain folks decided to target
All that paints a very clear picture; Only your rights should be revoked. "We" should be given a pass.
Side note; I also find it interesting how many twisted abuses can be traced back to the corporate response to Nader's (at the time) very effective citizen activism.. That was the pivotal moment. Which makes it all the easier to see how they so effectively managed to turn him into a pariah.
On a related note, Information warfare has been predicted to be the new major war front at least as far back as 1996, so this isn't something they just started thinking about in 2016, contrary to popular perception. Hell, an extremely popular anime talked of it in the early 2000s, and fictionally exhibited things we see in reality today.
Even Bin Laden, the infamous terrorist, understood the ramifications, and considered it a primary tenant of his "Death by a thousand cuts" strategy, although he was primary focused on inflicting economic harm.
And "we" walked right into it willingly. Why? Well perhaps this next quote will shed some light;
Richard Shultz, a professor of international politics at Tufts who’s long been a key national security state intellectual, wrote in 2004 that “A very senior [Special Operations Forces] officer who had served on the Joint Staff in the 1990s told me that more than once he heard terrorist strikes characterized as ‘a small price to pay for being a superpower.’
Again, the missed subtext is clear; Human lives lost in terrorism attacks (and increased radicalization due to US actions leading to more potential terrorist attacks) are a cheap price for global (and more importantly economic) dominance. By extension, one can assume that human lives lost to other corporate goals are also considered a "cheap cost".

This is NOT ok.

Speaking of radicalization and Al-Qaeda....
What did the founding fathers (that conservatives love to reference) think of stuff like this?
Abraham Lincoln warned in February 15, 1848, of the dangers of "Only I see and understand the danger, only I can protect you" type politics.
Allow the President to invade a neighboring nation whenever he shall deem it necessary to repel an invasion, and you allow him to do so whenever he may choose to say he deems it necessary for such purpose, and you allow him to make war at pleasure. Study to see if you can fix any limit to his power in this respect, after having given him so much as you propose. If to-day he should choose to say he thinks it necessary to invade Canada to prevent the British from invading us, how could you stop him? You may say to him,—”I see no probability of the British invading us”; but he will say to you, “Be silent: I see it, if you don’t.”
The provision of the Constitution giving the war making power to Congress was dictated, as I understand it, by the following reasons: kings had always been involving and impoverishing their people in wars, pretending generally, if not always, that the good of the people was the object. This our convention understood to be the most oppressive of all kingly oppressions, and they resolved to so frame the Constitution that no one man should hold the power of bringing this oppression upon us. But your view destroys the whole matter, and places our President where kings have always stood. Write soon again.
James Madison on Friday, February 8th, 1788 warned;
But the great security against a gradual concentration of the several powers in the same department, consists in giving to those who administer each department the necessary constitutional means and personal motives to resist encroachments of the others. The provision for defense must in this, as in all other cases, be made commensurate to the danger of attack. Ambition must be made to counteract ambition. The interest of the man must be connected with the constitutional rights of the place. It may be a reflection on human nature, that such devices should be necessary to control the abuses of government. But what is government itself, but the greatest of all reflections on human nature? If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself. A dependence on the people is, no doubt, the primary control on the government; but experience has taught mankind the necessity of auxiliary precautions.
What's often missed, is the subtext of Madison's warning, and central to the thesis of this essay, clarifies that yes, Government is supposed to represent the will of the people (or what they're willing to tolerate), but what happens when "the people" are "guided" to a particular view? Why is propaganda so prevalent and effective? Why do we reject the very clear evidence and science that entire populations can in fact be "rewired" to a particular view?
In other words, combining the warnings of Nietzsche, Lincoln and Madison's warning leads to the conclusion that yes, if "properly guided" the people can be taught to "yearn for a king", something which again, we've seen happen in practice across the world.
In closing, while none of this information is new but we're reaching the apex of a long arc, and if you've read this and thought one or more of;
Then you're exactly part of the problem I'm warning of. I'm not saying vote for Trump, I'm not saying vote for Biden. I'm not saying to vote at all, or that voting actually has much to do with it in the first place.
I'm pointing out a very simple fact expressed once by Benjamin Franklin, and even though the context was endlessly butchered, the real context makes it far more relevant;
In January 1775 Benjamin Franklin (1796-1790) was part of an American delegation sent to Britain in an attempt to resolve the outstanding disagreements between the Crown and the colonies. Seventeen points were up for discussion of which several were rejected outright by the Crown while others were rejected by the colonies. Franklin’s comments regarding the last two points produced one of his most famous sayings from the period:
As to the other two acts, (i.e. 16. The American admiralty courts reduced to the same powers they have in England, and the acts establishing them to be reënacted in America; and 17. All powers of internal legislation in the colonies to be disclaimed by Parliament) the Massachusetts (sic) must suffer all the hazards and mischiefs of war rather than admit the alteration of their charters and laws by Parliament. ‘They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.’
The context explained in the analysis makes it ever more clear;
It is interesting to see where the main lines of disagreement lay between the colonists' delegation to London and the Crown in early 1775 which one would think would have been the last opportunity at some kind of reconciliation before independence was declared and war broke out. The sticking points for the Crown were the 8th, 11th, and 17th Articles which were declared to be “inadmissible” or were “refused absolutely”: “8. No troops to enter and quarter in any colony, but with the consent of its legislature. 11. The late Massachusetts and Quebec Acts to be repealed, and a free government granted to Canada. 17. All powers of internal legislation in the colonies to be disclaimed by Parliament.” The payment of back taxes might be negotiable but when it came to the stationing of troops or placing limits on the power of Parliament over colonial legislatures no compromise was possible without giving up political power. Franklin’s remarks about the trade offs between “essential liberty” and “a little temporary safety” seem to have been directed at those in the colonies who could see that further compromise was no longer possible by the Crown and that it was up to the colonies to cave in in order to maintain the peace. Franklin was urging them that to do this would be to give up the entire game and thereby scuttle any chance for real liberty and independence in the colonies.

The king is dead, long live the king.

TL;DR : Shit is fucked. Read it.

2020.09.05 16:02 Aholabambino Is my girlfriend craving other man?

Hello, I am 32 male and I have same age girlfriend, I am from Lithuania and she is from Iran and we both live in UK ( if that makes any difference ) I have residence here and she has only one year students visa after that she will have to go back to Iran unless, she will manages to find a way how to stay here for ever ( which she is planning to do ) she is looking for a job and a support from them so she could stay here. So we met on a dating site, a year a go. And after I talked to her about being girlfriend boyfriend she said Ok, she still kept staying on the dating sites... We went out one evening to explore for cool places to chill, we went to this normal looking bar, hang in there for a bit and then went outside for a smoke ( we smoke when we have a drink ). We met this other couple, a well dressed guy who looked very similar to his brother and father... and a shy girl. The guy just straight up stared my girl from down to top, and my girl was kinda looking back to him, I had that feeling already that something is not right, anyway we start talking and my girl said can we get You 2 numbers so we can go out with You 2 any day to have fun as a couple with a couple... Coz she likes makeing friends, at least that's what she told me. So we added only him on to a group chat on what's app Turns out the guy was single and he just hooked up with this shy girl for a few day and then she had to leave the country. When I found out about it, my bells starting going off in my head. So I knew that she is still on a dating sites and + this guy started chatting with my girl how, he apologise to me, but he have to say that my girlfriend is georges... And I said, Yes I know... That's why I chose her. And then my girl and him kinda started to plan a night out... with intention for me to make a cool friend. So I went to get places and talked about everything, I said why are You still on dating sites if You with me? And I talked about not trusting this guy aswell. I knew for sure and told her aswell, that he likes her... And she was all sceptical about it... And said that the dating apps are just for fun... That guys will right funny stuff to her which will make her laugh. She asked me : Do I want her to delete the dating apps, and I didn't wanted to take away something what she enjoyed away so I said, that it's cool. So we met up with that guy in a club. And my girlfriend was all over me all night just holding me tight by my hand not letting me go even for a second. We hanged for few hours, we had pretty cool conversations with him and in the end I even drove the gut home, he invited us in aswell for few mins to show his place. I accepted it ( I think it was stupid of me, but I didn't really think anything of it) So he stated showing his room, then his kitchen. Told us a story how he fked some girl on a kitchen table... I kinda knew, that he was trying to impress my gf... My gf was not very impressed, At least that's how it looked like. And we went home, she said we should of not went I side his home, he might of killed us... Anyway few months after I am getting more and more in to her and I still see her on her dating apps. I bring it up, she went all quite about it and said she were not useing it. And then I showed he that I see when she is online... and it was 12h last time She went online... she didn't said anything and instead of coming to my place she said she don't want to go anymore, she want to go home. I stoped at her house and asked her : " do You want to talk about it?" She said no and left my car. After 1h she called back all apologetic and asked to come back to pick her up. I went there and she start crying and apologized. We came back to mine and she sat me on a bed and deleted all the dating apps... in my vision... After some time She had to go back to Iran. I had this bad feeling while she was there... So the guy had a party going on and he invited us to come. But My gf was out of the country and I think coz of not looking weird he told me to come. I said ok. And at the same day he tried to talk me out of it lol... like it's a long ride, You have to go tomorrow to work and so on. But I still made an effort. We hanged it was pretty cool and chill and everyone loved me there. So he invited me for another party. And again it was great.
After 4 months she came back she were living with me for few weeks. Things were going good, after the same guy invited us both to his leaving party, apparently he is leaving UK to live in Paris. And Yesterday I went to the gym and came back and she mentioned the guy, that he was sad in his texts, when he was inviting us. And I said why do You think about him? She kinda got a bit deffencive and said : I am just saying... Than we said down and I was watching a bit about body language and how to spot a lier... I asked her do You like that guy? : She said no while nodding her head. That means she is lieing coz the mouth said no but the body said yes... she was nodding her head while saying no. I told her about it and she said.it means nothing... And I went to sleep and didn't even look at her, she started crying and hugged me, started saying she loves me... I felt bad, we had sex and went to sleep. This morning when I woke up and kissed her before I went to work, I didn't said I love You. I was waiting for her to say it. But she never did. So now I am writing about this in here coz I feel like shit... And don't know what to do anymore... should I just break up with her, or all of this is just in my head...

2020.09.04 00:51 BuffetBerg Google Is Not What It Seems

In this extract from his new book When Google Met Wikileaks, WikiLeaks' publisher Julian Assange describes the special relationship between Google, Hillary Clinton and the State Department -- and what that means for the future of the internet.
* * *
Eric Schmidt is an influential figure, even among the parade of powerful characters with whom I have had to cross paths since I founded WikiLeaks. In mid-May 2011 I was under house arrest in rural Norfolk, about three hours’ drive northeast of London. The crackdown against our work was in full swing and every wasted moment seemed like an eternity. It was hard to get my attention. But when my colleague Joseph Farrell told me the executive chairman of Google wanted to make an appointment with me, I was listening.
In some ways the higher echelons of Google seemed more distant and obscure to me than the halls of Washington. We had been locking horns with senior US officials for years by that point. The mystique had worn off. But the power centers growing up in Silicon Valley were still opaque and I was suddenly conscious of an opportunity to understand and influence what was becoming the most influential company on earth. Schmidt had taken over as CEO of Google in 2001 and built it into an empire.1
I was intrigued that the mountain would come to Muhammad. But it was not until well after Schmidt and his companions had been and gone that I came to understand who had really visited me.
* * *
The stated reason for the visit was a book. Schmidt was penning a treatise with Jared Cohen, the director of Google Ideas, an outfit that describes itself as Google’s in-house “think/do tank.” I knew little else about Cohen at the time. In fact, Cohen had moved to Google from the US State Department in 2010. He had been a fast-talking “Generation Y” ideas man at State under two US administrations, a courtier from the world of policy think tanks and institutes, poached in his early twenties. He became a senior advisor for Secretaries of State Rice and Clinton. At State, on the Policy Planning Staff, Cohen was soon christened “Condi’s party-starter,” channeling buzzwords from Silicon Valley into US policy circles and producing delightful rhetorical concoctions such as “Public Diplomacy 2.0.”2 On his Council on Foreign Relations adjunct staff page he listed his expertise as “terrorism; radicalization; impact of connection technologies on 21st century statecraft; Iran.”3 📷 Director of Google Ideas, and "geopolitical visionary" Jared Cohen shares his vision with US Army recruits in a lecture theatre at West Point Military Academy on 26 Feb 2014 (Instagram by Eric Schmidt) It was Cohen who, while he was still at the Department of State, was said to have emailed Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to delay scheduled maintenance in order to assist the aborted 2009 uprising in Iran.4 His documented love affair with Google began the same year, when he befriended Eric Schmidt as they together surveyed the post-occupation wreckage of Baghdad. Just months later, Schmidt re-created Cohen’s natural habitat within Google itself by engineering a “think/do tank” based in New York and appointing Cohen as its head. Google Ideas was born. Later that year the two co-wrote a policy piece for the Council on Foreign Relations’ journal Foreign Affairs, praising the reformative potential of Silicon Valley technologies as an instrument of US foreign policy.5 Describing what they called “coalitions of the connected,”6 Schmidt and Cohen claimed that
Democratic states that have built coalitions of their militaries have the capacity to do the same with their connection technologies. . . . They offer a new way to exercise the duty to protect citizens around the world [emphasis added].7
In the same piece they argued that “this technology is overwhelmingly provided by the private sector.” Shortly afterwards, Tunisia. then Egypt, and then the rest of the Middle East, erupted in revolution. The echoes of these events on online social media became a spectacle for Western internet users. The professional commentariat, keen to rationalize uprisings against US-backed dictatorships, branded them "Twitter revolutions." Suddenly everyone wanted to be at the intersection point between US global power and social media, and Schmidt and Cohen had already staked out the territory. With the working title “The Empire of the Mind,” they began expanding their article to book length, and sought audiences with the big names of global tech and global power as part of their research.
They said they wanted to interview me. I agreed. A date was set for June.

By the time June came around there was already a lot to talk about. That summer WikiLeaks was still grinding through the release of US diplomatic cables, publishing thousands of them every week. When, seven months earlier, we had first started releasing the cables, Hillary Clinton had denounced the publication as “an attack on the international community” that would “tear at the fabric” of government.
It was into this ferment that Google projected itself that June, touching down in a London airport and making the long drive up into East Anglia to Norfolk and Beccles. Schmidt arrived first, accompanied by his then partner, Lisa Shields. When he introduced her as a vice president of the Council on Foreign Relations—a US foreign-policy think tank with close ties to the State Department—I thought little more of it. Shields herself was straight out of Camelot, having been spotted by John Kennedy Jr.’s side back in the early 1990s. They sat with me and we exchanged pleasantries. They said they had forgotten their dictaphone, so we used mine. We made an agreement that I would forward them the recording and in exchange they would forward me the transcript, to be corrected for accuracy and clarity. We began. Schmidt plunged in at the deep end, straightaway quizzing me on the organizational and technological underpinnings of WikiLeaks.
Some time later Jared Cohen arrived. With him was Scott Malcomson, introduced as the book’s editor. Three months after the meeting Malcomson would enter the State Department as the lead speechwriter and principal advisor to Susan Rice (then US ambassador to the United Nations, now national security advisor). He had previously served as a senior advisor at the United Nations, and is a longtime member of the Council on Foreign Relations. At the time of writing, he is the director of communications at the International Crisis Group.8
At this point, the delegation was one part Google, three parts US foreign-policy establishment, but I was still none the wiser. Handshakes out of the way, we got down to business.

Schmidt was a good foil. A late-fiftysomething, squint-eyed behind owlish spectacles, managerially dressed—Schmidt’s dour appearance concealed a machinelike analyticity. His questions often skipped to the heart of the matter, betraying a powerful nonverbal structural intelligence. It was the same intellect that had abstracted software-engineering principles to scale Google into a megacorp, ensuring that the corporate infrastructure always met the rate of growth. This was a person who understood how to build and maintain systems: systems of information and systems of people. My world was new to him, but it was also a world of unfolding human processes, scale, and information flows.
For a man of systematic intelligence, Schmidt’s politics—such as I could hear from our discussion—were surprisingly conventional, even banal. He grasped structural relationships quickly, but struggled to verbalize many of them, often shoehorning geopolitical subtleties into Silicon Valley marketese or the ossified State Department microlanguage of his companions.9 He was at his best when he was speaking (perhaps without realizing it) as an engineer, breaking down complexities into their orthogonal components.
I found Cohen a good listener, but a less interesting thinker, possessed of that relentless conviviality that routinely afflicts career generalists and Rhodes scholars. As you would expect from his foreign-policy background, Cohen had a knowledge of international flash points and conflicts and moved rapidly between them, detailing different scenarios to test my assertions. But it sometimes felt as if he was riffing on orthodoxies in a way that was designed to impress his former colleagues in official Washington. Malcomson, older, was more pensive, his input thoughtful and generous. Shields was quiet for much of the conversation, taking notes, humoring the bigger egos around the table while she got on with the real work.
As the interviewee I was expected to do most of the talking. I sought to guide them into my worldview. To their credit, I consider the interview perhaps the best I have given. I was out of my comfort zone and I liked it. We ate and then took a walk in the grounds, all the while on the record. I asked Eric Schmidt to leak US government information requests to WikiLeaks, and he refused, suddenly nervous, citing the illegality of disclosing Patriot Act requests. And then as the evening came on it was done and they were gone, back to the unreal, remote halls of information empire, and I was left to get back to my work. That was the end of it, or so I thought.

2020.08.25 21:27 Generation-Y Rojava Documentaries

I made a list of documentaries focusing on Rojava and Bakur that are either in English or have English subtitles. This list only contains documentaries that are free and available to stream online (mostly links to YouTube and Vimeo). I organised them by release date and roughly divided them into the following categories: Rojava, Women's Movement, International Volunteers, Battle against ISIS, Bakur and Short Docs.
This is a work in progress. I'll add more in the future and try to keep this list up to date.
Hope you enjoy these, and feel free to suggest more in the comments or dm me. Tips are welcome.

Rojava

Since the United States withdrew from northern Syria in October 2019, and the Turkish military operation began, what remains now of Rojava, created in 2014 during the battle of Kobane, won by Kurdish forces at the cost of enormous sacrifices?
What will happen next in northern Syria? All of the parties to the conflict — the Americans, Assad's regime, Russia, Iran and Turkey — have their own agendas for the war-torn region. But what do the Kurds themselves think about their future?
In the ruins of ISIS's caliphate syrian kurds are building a radical experiment in democracy and women’s rights in the old badlands of Islamic State. But as Yaara Bou Melhem reports, it could be crushed in an instant.
The Democratic Federation of Northern Syria, also called Rojava, is passing through a dangerous period. Turkey attacked and occupies Afrin, one of the three Kurdish provinces. The Islamic State is still active. The authorities of the Democratic Federation had talks with the Damascus government on its de facto autonomy, without success, as for now. A film by Chris Den Hond and Mireille Court.
An in-depth look into the inner workings of the commune system in Northeast Syria (Rojava) and how they work in practice to give people direct say over the decisions that affect their lives at the most local level. I also call for people to form communes throughout North America and the world.
This is a 45 minute documentary about the Kurds, Assyrians, Arabs, and Yezidis in Northeast Syria (Rojava) who’ve spent the last 9 years dealing with the uncertainty and precarity we are just now beginning to face, turned to their neighbors to get themselves through civil war and ISIS attacks, and are emerging through it all with a new society that is far more beautiful and far more free than they had before. It’s a story of hope and I think it is very instructive for us about the possibilities that can emerge out of crisis when neighbors “pod up”.
While battling the Islamic state, Kurds and other ethnic groups in Northern Syria are trying to install a political project. They call it the “Democratic Federation of Northern Syria”.
This project is at opposite to the religious project of part of the Syrian opposition, but also to the Arab nationalist project of the Syrian government. And it's also opposed to an independent Kurdistan." We don't want a Kurdistan for Kurds, but a democratic federation for everybody," they say.
From Qamishli to Kobane, from Membij to Raqqa, this story describes the difficult implementation of a new political experience in Syria, despite the obstacles of a the war and a suffocating embargo.
The documentary is telling the Rojava Revolution, with stories of Assyrian, Kurdish, Arabic people. This people are subjected to the ISIS attacks, on the other hand they are trying to build a communal system like democratic autonomy. This struggle is not easy in a region like Syria, where the war continues and showing the effects on people’s life.
“The future of the extraordinary feminist and democratic revolution in Rojava is now in danger. The US has announced it will withdraw its military forces from Syria, with whom the Kurdish forces have been fighting against ISIS. This will be a green light for Erdogan’s Turkey to fulfill its threats to attack Rojava and eradicate its nascent democracy. There’s never been a more important time to support Rojava. This clip from Accidental Anarchist shows why it matters.” - Carne Ross
The documentary The Silent Revolution explains the revolution involving nearly 3 million kurds living in Syria. With the outbreak of the civil war —in the frame of the called ‘Arab Spring'— the Kurds of Syria have taken advantage of the context to fight for their political and cultural recognition and thus end the repression that started more than 50 years ago.

Women's Movement

In October 2019, a rising star of Syrian democratic politics, 34-year-old Hevrin Khalaf, was brutally murdered in the Kurdish-governed north east of the country.
Yalda Hakim travels to Syria to investigate this young woman's killing, her battle for freedom and empowerment, and her colleagues' view that her death was the result of President Trump's withdrawal of support from the Kurds, who have been a key American ally in the defeat of so-called Islamic State.
The Democratic Federation of Northern Syria, also known as Rojava, managed to free itself from Syria in 2011 during the upheaval of war. Since this revolution, won by both men and women, a peaceful society is forming where women have taken up leading roles in government and wider society.
On the front line of the Syrian war, 30-year-old Commander Arian guides a female battalion towards the city of Kobane to release its people from the grip of ISIS in Alba Sotorra’s empowering tale of emancipation and freedom. When the war in Syria broke, a group of women from the Kurdish resistance assembled the YPJ—Women Protection Units. Arian, who witnessed at a young age the nefarious treatment of sexual assault victims, leads the unit and dedicates her life to battling ISIS. As the YPJ inches closer to their target, she implores her comrades to discover the true meaning of their fight: freedom for the next generation of women. With unprecedented access to the commander and her troops, including delicate scenes of her recovering from multiple bullet wounds, Sotorra brilliantly crafts an enthralling portrait of a woman on a mission.
The catastrophic war in Syria has brought about one good thing: the forming of the autonomous region of Rojava is radically changing the position of women in the Middle East. The fascinating story of Jiyan, a female guerrilla fighter who devoted twenty years of her life in the Kurdish militant struggle, reveals women's determination for freedom not only against another oppressive regime, but also against patriarchy.
Kongreya Star is a confederation of women's movements through out the region of Rojava, a predominantly Kurdish area of northern Syria, also referred to as West-Kurdistan. Kongreya Star was founded in 2005 and originally called Yekîtîya Star. Under the fierce oppression of Bashar Al Assad's Ba'th regime, women in towns and villages across the northern areas of Syria began to come together and organise themselves, creating a strong basis for the confederated women's movement. Kongreya Star plays an active role in organising women across all areas of life: education, culture and arts, economics, self-defence, social affairs, problem-solving and justice, politics, local government, ecology, press and media and international relations.
As the forces of ISIS and Assad tear through villages and society in Syria and Northern Iraq, a group of brave and idealistic women are taking up arms against them—and winning inspiring victories. Members of “The Free Women’s Party” come from Paris, Turkish Kurdistan, and other parts of the world. Their dream: To create a Democratic Syria, and a society based on gender equality. Guns in hand, these women are carrying on a movement with roots that run 40 years deep in the Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK) in Turkey. GIRL’S WAR honors the legacy of Sakine Cansiz, co-founder of the PKK who was assassinated in Paris in 2013, and reflects on the sacrifices made by all of the women in the movement, who have endured jail, rape, war, and persecution in their quest to liberate their lives and sisters from male dominance. With scenes of solidarity, strength, and love amongst these brave women soldiers, GIRL'S WAR is a surprising story of Middle Eastern feminism on the front lines.
RTD correspondents received an exclusive permission to spend three weeks in a training camp of the YPJ, the female division of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units fighting ISIS. The town of Serekaniye in Syria is the last major town bordering the “Islamic State”. The mainly Kurdish local population is determined to fight the murderous ISIS and prevent them from entering their town. Among the fighters are young women, who chose to defend themselves and their families from the belligerent invaders.
Deep within Kurdish Syria, the YPJ, made up of local women, are fighting the barbaric ISIS terrorist movement. Tara Brown travels to the war zone to see firsthand just how these extraordinary female fighters are winning the war. They are brave women who have lost family and friends, but won’t let anything weaken their resolve to defeat ISIS.

International Volunteers

The story of Anna Campbell, who travelled to northern Syria in secret in 2017. Just eight months after arriving and with no military background, Anna went to the front line to fight with Kurdish YPJ.
In 2019, Unicorn Riot interviewed three New Yorkers who volunteered to fight alongside the Peoples’ Protection Units (YPG) and Syrian Democratic Forces against ISIS and Turkey. The documentary features their oral accounts overlaid with contributed footage from anonymous sources to bring you a first person point of view of what happened to fighters as they held the front line in defense of Rojava, an autonomous zone in northern Syria. The three men share their perspectives of what they witnessed while playing a small role in the Syrian Civil War as international volunteers for the YPG.
To date at least 20 British nationals, some with no previous experience of combat, have travelled to Syria to fight Isis on the frontline. Eight of these Brits have lost their lives. This film follows the journeys of parents as they investigate why their children went out to join the Kurdish army in their fight against Isis, including visiting the places they died in Syria. What led these young Brits to risk everything, travelling thousands of miles from home to wage war against the world’s most feared terrorist organisation, fighting someone else’s war?
The New International is a biweekly, bilingual show broadcast on Kurdistan's Stêrk TV.
Each episode follows a day in the life of an internationalist revolutionary who has travelled to Rojava, Northern Syria, to work in solidarity with the democratic-confederalist, women-led revolution.
In an eye opening report, journalist Yuri Maldavsky follows an international brigade fighting for the Kurdish cause against Islamic state and subsequently Turkish forces, in besieged Afrin, northern Syria.
Fear Us Women follows Hanna Bohman, a Canadian civilian who has spent the last three years in Syria as a volunteer soldier battling ISIS. As a member of the YPJ, an all-female Kurdish army, Hanna gives an inside look at the brave women fighting for liberation in one of the world's most dangerous countries.
Part One: This 2-part series follows River Hagg as he travels to war-torn Syria, in hopes of documenting stories of the worst humanitarian crisis since WWII. He finds a medical unit of foreign volunteers as they provide aid to civilians, YPG fighters and ISIS. Part two: The volunteers continue to push with the YPG to the ISIS defended city of Manbij, Syria. River hears news from home and plans his exit. The team is granted access to the front lines and they find themselves on dangerous ground, surrounded by ISIS.
The documentary film documents the construction of a new health care center by international volunteers in the city of Kobane (North Syria/Western Kurdistan) that was destroyed by the fascist IS to 80 per cent. 177 brigadists of ICOR from 10 countries constructed the health care center together with local construction workers. With that they set a signal for the return of more than one hundred thousand people to their home city who had fled the city.
VICE journalist, Sebastian Weiss, met up with a German ex-soldier and former Foreign Legionnaire, a 19-year-old Canadian fighter, a mother of four from Poland, an ICOR brigade member, German social workers and a 25-year-old from Saarbrücken, who are deployed under the command of the People’s Protection Units, directly on the front and only 50 kilometers from the IS stronghold, Raqqah.
NAKED TRUTH: ISIS Fighters follows several American and western volunteers embedded with Kurdish militias as they make a push deep into ISIS strongholds, uncovering the brutality of life under the Islamic State.
The foreign Fighters who took part in Syria Civil War subscribe to different Ideologies & come from different countries: from USA, France, Germany, The Netherlands, etc; from a simple farmer to a university scholar; all gathered together in one place, either fighting for ISIS or fighting to defeat ISIS. The Documentary speaks about them, but this time we do not deal with those 25 thousand combatants who fight along with ISIS; rather, we selected those who are fighting against ISIS, along with other eight hundred foreigners, together with the Kurdish forces. They have arrived in Syrian Kurdistan which Kurds call Rojava from all over the world, and are fighting on the front lines under the command of the YPG, the People's Protection Units. Jordan Matson is a former U.S. Army infantryma and one of the first foreign volunteers to fight within the YPG. Matson flew from Chicago to Istanbul and then drove to Diyarbakir in southeast of Turkey. In October 2014, he crossed the border into Syria pretending to be a doctor. Matson currently lives in Sweden with his wife and son, Verdi and Kosta Leonidas Matson.

Battle against ISIS

The road to ISIS’ self-proclaimed capital, Raqqa, has been long and hard. The battle rages in the suburbs of the Syrian city. Improvised explosive devices, suicide bombers, sniper fire and grenade-dropping drones have been deployed by the surrounded terrorists.
This film features the stories of fighters in the Kurdish People Protection Units (YPG), as well as European volunteers who joined them. There are also stories of military hospital staff. Dr. Akhiv, a veteran military doctor considers his work a “sacred calling.” Adham, a frontline nurse, joined the field hospital after his brother was killed fighting ISIS. Sema, a Kurdish female commander, left her family to join the fight. “We’re not fighting for a certain nation. Humanity is what we’re fighting for,” she says.
Some Europeans have joined the YPG as volunteers. Rosa left a mundane life in Sweden to fight for women’s rights in Syria. Robin, a volunteer from Germany, got sick of hearing how “someone should do something about” ISIS after every terrorist attack in Europe. He left his girlfriend and a comfortable life to do something about them himself.
Meet the forces trying to beat Islamic State in Syria. Sky News joins them on the road to Raqqa.
FRANCE 24 reporters Romeo Langlois, Mayssa Awad and Mohammed Hassan were able to gain exclusive access to the fighters of this interethnic coalition that is taking on the IS group "caliphate". They witnessed firsthand the battle to take back the town of Shaddadi. This is their extraordinary 35-minute documentary.
The former EastEnders actor visits Iraq and Syria to follow Kurdish armed forces to the front lines of the ongoing fight against the so-called Islamic State.
If almost everything you had in life was lost, your house was turns to ashes, your neighborhood wiped out and most of your friends and family were killed... what were you doing? Leaving Kobani and Syria in favor of a new promising future in Europe? Or the opposite: Now, more than ever, fight for your land and for what might become a historic opportunity for independent state and freedom, in a place where Assad and ISIS are your immediate neighbors? It is a difficult question and we analyse it in Syria and in Germany. We check it with someone from Kobani who tried to flee - Abdullah Kurdi - who lost his wife and two children while trying to go on a boat and cross the sea from Turkey to Greece, and whose little boy Alan, was drifted to the shores of Turkey and was immortalized by a shocking photo that led to the opening of the gates and the heart of Europe (momentarily) to the refugees from Syria.
My second and longest journey to Kurdish controlled regions of Iraq and Syria. We explore the frontline against ISIS stretching from Shengal (Sinjar) Iraq, all the way to the edge of the Euphrates River in Syria. Without the constraints typical of our mainstream media, this documentary offers a deeply personal and humanizing view of the war.
In March of 2015, I set off to the Kurdistan region of Iraq and Syria to begin a new personal project. In the beginning, I thought perhaps it would be a still photography trip only. But just as I left the door, I decided to grab my GoPro kit in case anything interesting happened and I could just film it myself. This is that footage.
The City That Beat ISIS: For months the Syrian city of Kobani was under siege in a struggle that became emblematic of the international fight back against ISIS. In January 2015, ISIS were driven out - an event that made world headlines.
Few journalists managed to enter Kobani during the siege. But reporter Kiki King and director James Brabazon were there to witness the final week of the battle.
The Kurdish border city of Kobane in Northern Syria has been under siege by Islamic State fighters for more than three months. But Kurdish forces are managing to retain hold of most of the city. As well as keeping IS at bay – they see getting their story out to the rest of the world as a vital part of their mission. An Iranian Kurdish film-maker spent two weeks inside Kobane following the men and women risking their lives to publicise the ongoing battle.
On September 19th, 2014, after 2 months of siege by the Islamic State, the kurds from the city of Kobane, in northern Syria, are forced to flee to Turkey. Two days later, my father and I decide to make a trip to the Turkish-Syrian border to find our family and assist the refugees from my father's city. But what we will find there, at the foot of the border, will surpass any expectations.
In September of 2013, VICE crossed the border into Syria's Kurdish region to document the YPG's counteroffensive against the jihadists, who had struck deep into rural Hassakeh in an attempt to surround and capture Ras al-Ayn. With unparalleled access to the Kurdish and Syrian Christian fighters on the frontlines, we found ourselves witnessing a bitter and almost unreported conflict within the Syrian war, where the Assad regime is a neutral spectator in a life or death struggle between jihadist-led rebels and Kurdish nationalists, pitting village against village and neighbor against neighbor.
Is the Middle East's newest country a territory called "Rojava"? Out of the chaos of Syria's civil war, mainly Kurdish leftists have forged a radical, egalitarian, multi-ethnic mini-state run on communal lines. But with ISIS Jihadists attacking them at every opportunity - especially around the beleaguered city of Kobane, how long can this idealistic social experiment last? Our World has gained exclusive access to Rojava, from the frontlines, to the politicians and refugee camps.
On the frontline with the women taking up arms against Islamic State. These highly effective female fighters are taking on Islamic State forces in northern Iraq and Syria as part of the Kurdish guerrilla army. Through the camera of Israeli filmmaker Itai Anghel, we meet young women giving up any prospect of a normal life to train and fight in tough conditions.

Bakur

Voices of Bakur looks at the Kurdish movement in Bakur, Northern Kurdistan. It focuses on the period of 2015-2016, when more than a dozen Kurdish towns within the southeastern borders of Turkey declared autonomy from the Turkish state.
In the summer of 2015, the Turkish state launched a brutal war against the Kurds who were organizing an assembly based social system founded on the principles of women’s liberation and autonomy. According to the Diyarbakir Human Rights Association, 1,552 people, 320 of them civilians, and 75 of them children, were killed in Turkey between July 2015 and July 2016. The film features interviews shot on the ground with various Kurdish organizers, many who are now facing jail sentences, are already in jail or were killed, about democratic autonomy, women’s liberation, self-defense, and the civil war in southeastern Turkey. It features footage from various news sources, which have now been shut down and banned by the state. Voices of Bakur is an important document of an under-reported popular insurrection for autonomy.
The film was created by Two Rivers and a Valley, a collective of Turkish, Kurdish, European, and US radical filmmakers.
A documentary about the Kurdish Guerrilla fighting for a better future for the Middle East and perhaps the entire world.
A documentary about Kurdish women revolutionary Sakine Cansiz, who was killed in Paris in January 9, 2013. The documentary is about Cansiz's life and her legacy.
25 minutes story about Kurds, Turkey and Erdogan's referendum. Produced by Chris Den Hond and Mireille Court for TeleSur and Tariq Ali's program: "The World Today". April 2017.
Shot in secret, BAKUR: Inside the PKK is the worlds first documentary made with inside access to the Kurdish separatist group, who are considered a terrorist organisation by Turkey, the US and NATO. The result is an inside look at the undeclared war going on in Turkey for decades. This was the first time any film crew had ever accessed these camps.
Kurdistan, which is split over Iran, Iraq, Turkey and Syria, could play a major role in a Middle East that has been torn apart. But who are the Kurds? What influence do they have? And who exactly is Abdullah Öcalan, leader of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party?
FRANCE 24 brings you a rare look inside the PKK, the Kurdistan Workers' Party, in the midst of fighting a guerrilla war against the Turkish army and the Islamic State group.
Some, such as the United States and the European Union, see them as terrorists, others as saviours. PKK fighters are waging a war on two fronts, between Turkey and Iraq. FRANCE 24 was able to meet several members of the group in their stronghold of the Qandil Mountains in northern Iraq.
Cizre, extreme south-east of Turkey. On 4 September 2015 a measure of the governor of Sirnak declares a state of emergency, a curfew of 24 hours 24 is imposed on the entire population. No one can leave the house, the hospital is closed as well as all commercial activities. There is no water or electricity, cell phones do not work, Cizre is isolated from the world. It begins the siege. The story of what happened in the 9-day curfew told directly by the people of Cizre. A journey through the streets of the neighborhoods where they are consumed very serious violations of human rights in the attack launched by the Turkish army against men, women and children that caused 28 deaths and over 100 injured.
My name is Kurdistan is the kilometers about a trip that covered three of four pieces by Kurdistan.
A documentary on kurdish kids in southeast turkey growing up surrounded by the violence of the turkish state.
From Boudica of the British Celts to Corporal Klinger, few things unsettle the male mind like a lady in arms. The Kurds of Northern Iraq have long recognized this principle and incorporated it into their quest to build a Kurdish homeland in the overlap between Iraq, Iran, Turkey, and Syria. Fighting alongside their male comrades in a region not exactly known for its progressive stance on women's rights, the female Peshmerga guerillas of the Kurdish Liberation Movement built a reputation for themselves in the 70s and 80s as demure diaboliques with the deadly poise of Leila Khaled or Tania-era Patty Hearst.
As a Kurdish teenager she refused to be given in marriage. Thirty years later Nuriye Kesbir is still fighting, now as a wanted female guerrilla leader. This film is a frank portrait of the background and motives of one of the leaders of the Kurdish resistance movement PKK. Director Wietsma followed Kesbir, warrior name 'Sozdar' (meaning: someone who keeps a promise) on her remarkable journey, beginning in a Dutch prison and ending in the rough mountains of Northern Iraq.
The film is a portrait of Leyla Zana, the first Kurdish deputy woman of the Turkish Parliament elected in 1991, and the «mother» of a whole country torn by a tragic history. A symbol of civic courage, a model of respect for all those who fight against injustice all over the world, the life of Leyla Zana also questions the commitment of a woman and the sacrifice of a mother. Through archives and accounts given by her relatives, the film recalls her development and her fight.
A war of national liberation or a war against terrorism? Film-maker and acclaimed freelance journalist Kevin McKiernan poses this question at the outset of this stirring, provocative film shot in part by legendary cinematographer Haskell Wexler. It's all in how you define "good" and "bad." "Good Kurds" are those in Iraq: they're Saddam Hussein's victims, whom we want to help. "Bad Kurds" are those waging an armed insurrection against Turkey, an American ally: they're at the receiving end of U.S. weaponry. McKiernan went to northern Iraq to cover the revolt against Saddam Hussein. Just a few miles away, no one was covering the hidden war in Turkey. McKiernan determined he would report the story independently. 'Good Kurds, Bad Kurds' brings a sharp clarity to a complex history, while providing disturbing insight into immigration practices and U.S. foreign policy.

Short Docs

Óglaigh Rojava meets three Irishmen who volunteered militarily and civically in the Rojava revolution, in the North of Syria.
In May 2017, Charlie left everything behind to go and fight against ISIS in Rojava, Kurdistan, a Middle Eastern utopia based on the notions of feminism and equality. Charlie recalls what it is like to be at war with ISIS and takes us to an outpost in the battle of Raqqa, ISIS’ capital.
As Charlie re-adapts to ordinary British life, his comrades in Syria are still fighting and paying the price. But if the price is high, so are the stakes.
Documentary on the Turkish invasion of Afrin in Northern Syria in 2018.
Documenting the life of Mehmet Aksoy, a British-Kurdish filmmaker, a leading figure within the UK’s Kurdish community and an activist. Mehmet was tragically killed on 26th September 2017, at the age of 32, while documenting the war between Kurdish forces and ISIS in Raqqa, northern Syria.
The documentary collective "Şopdarên rojê ya çandê" has made a short film about Jinwar, which gives a short introduction on the perspective of the free women's village with very nice shots from the village life.
“We can even say that women are ahead of men. Women lead men.”
Meet the fighters of the YPJ, the Women’s Protection Units in Syria.
“I wanted to believe in something.”
Swedish and American fighters reflect on leaving their homelands to fight the Islamic State.
The People's Protection Units (YPG) was formed underground in 2011 to defend the people of Rojava against attacks from the Syrian Bashar al-Assad regime and other reactionary forces as the war in Syria started.
Today, it is a force of 50,000 people and at the forefront of the revolution in Syria and the region.
Watch this short documentary to learn about the struggle, sacrifices and victories of this amazing force.
Filmed during the battle of Kobani, this film reveals the women at the heart of the fight against IS. With stoical perseverance and the aid of American airstrikes, these women are leading the fight for freedom.
The Sniper of Kobani is a portrait of Haron, a Kurdish fighter who came to the Syrian town of Kobani to end the IS occupation.
This short documentary about the radical democratic experiment in Rojava was made by the New World Summit, an artistic and political organization dedicated to providing “alternative parliaments” to host organizations that currently find themselves excluded from democracy.
The documentary focuses on the ongoing political, military and ideological transformation in Rojava-Northern Syrian Federation.
The report takes us into the new front against ISIS on the Euphrates River in Syria (Rojava for the Kurds). On the east bank of the river the Kurdish guerrilla - YPG. On the west bank - ISIS in the city of Jarabulus . Kurdish women are firing across the river on the positions of ISIS and explain the added value of the women in the battle against Jihadists.
We focus on volunteers who came to Syria to fight alongside YPG against ISIS. Where countries have decided not to intervene on the ground and look away from the atrocities, there are hundreds of individuals who left their comfortable life in the west and came to fight in Syria and Iraq . Here we tell the story of three of them: A doctor from Norway , a teacher from Sweden and an American student.

2020.08.20 00:45 DiamondCoal The First space pirates

For a while now I've been fascinated with the idea of space pirates. While some might say it is an outdated fantasy I say it is inevitable.
Pirate Definition:
  1. Noun; a person who attacks and robs ships at sea.
  2. Verb; to use or reproduce (another's work) for profit without permission, usually in contravention of patent or copyright.
  3. [DATED] To rob or plunder (a ship).
So a space pirate should fit this definition(s) but in space instead of the sea. I am not counting anything being stolen online due to that being more of a cyber-pirate. Anything stolen must be stolen in reality.

First act of space-piracy

Lets make a world that I see as highly probable. On Mars there are 3 relevant entities for today example: India, Pakistan, & the Russian owned Cosmosis Corporation. They are all setup in the Hellas Impact crater not to far away from one another. India has gotten word that Pakistan has just sent its first supply ship to what will become the Pakistan Martian base. India, not liking Pakistan very much decides to hire Cosmosis Corp to do some "morally questionable" things to Pakistan's supplies. Cosmosis Corp agrees to this deal in private and while the rocket is landing on Mars it suddenly and mysteriously looses signal for 30 minutes. Once the signal is back online the rocket surprisingly landed on Cosmosis base, unattainable by Pakistani law.
Now that is by definition Piracy, well its actually closer to Space-Privateering ( Noun; an armed ship owned and officered by private individuals holding a government commission and authorized for use in war, especially in the capture of enemy merchant shipping.) India is now completely off the hook because it obviously wasn't them who "stole" the Pakistani shipment. Cosmosis gets extra supplies and is on better terms with India.
Obviously this doesn't need to be specifically India & Pakistan, it could be the USA & China, USA & Russia, North and South Korea, Israel and Palestine, Saudi Arabia and Iran, European Union & Russia for all I care. Either way it is very possible and easy form of international sabotage.

First Space Pirates

Suddenly a massive war between Russia & Pakistan begins, Cosmosis (not officially owned by Russia) is sent to do a bit of privateering on behalf of their home country. Wealth, fame and power is bestowed on Cosmosis Corp by the end of the war. Entire fleets of people who's jobs were to steal and pillage the Pakistani bases all through out the planet. But now the war is over, Russia no longer has a military and thousands to tens of thousands of hard working Cosmosis Employees are out of a job. Cosmosis has earned a reputation and the public is scared to work with them. Well these veterans still have ships though? Well ships of Veteran Privateers are now independent, free to take oxygen, water, food, computers, scrap and whatever is needed just to get by.
Solders on both sides are now left without a job sometimes hundreds of millions of miles away from their home. What choice do they have? Mars is harsh, and all you know how to do is shoot the ships railgun, your friend is good with computers and his brother is able to fly ships, you knew a girl who fixes ships well and she also needs supplies.
Any war in space will result in soldiers being stuck on Mars, how I see it is that any abandoned veterans have the possibility to become pirates. Martians should be able to fly ships pretty easily if immigration becomes common enough.

Where to hide?

There are many places to hide if you're on the run.
I think Space Pirates are an inevitability. The last thing I want to add is that Gangs, Mafia's, Syndicates, Terrorists and Rebels might just steal space ships and commit Piracy for their own gains. Nothing says we won't see a space El Chappo.
This is based on how pirates actually came about in real life. Privateers became pirates and many veterans became pirates as well.

2020.08.14 18:43 biggreekgeek Flatten the Curve. #47. Keep Calm and Carry On meme was/is Propaganda. Pentagon MEME Warfare Center. Bill Gates Gene Drive Editing. Pakistan and China Biowarfare Lab Cooperation. Chinese Spy at UC & CRISPR-Cas9/Covid-19 Data? Political Chess at the WHO. AI and Gene Drive Can Stop the Pandemic.

Previous Post Is Here
Propaganda. Real propagandists are good at what they do. Really good. This is why you don't know it's propaganda until after the dust has settled, so to speak. All we can do is look back after the fact.
The truth doesn't always lead to the facts, but the facts always lead to the truth.
I came up with that axiom years ago. It just popped into my head. Don't know why, it just did. But keep that in the back of your head whenever you read fake facts.
So what are the facts and where is the truth? What can we line up in a manner that makes sense. Where do we dig in all this information for the artifacts they try to bury from us?
Let's start at Keep Calm and Carry On. Remember that? It's strange how viral it became, isn’t it? Almost like governments like viral information pandemics they choose, and use fake facts to suppress viral information that isn't good for your mental health, like conspiracy theories.
Have you noticed me using Keep Calm and Carry On a lot? It was on purpose. I wanted to illustrate how easy it is to be bombarded by terms like Keep Calm or New Normal into everyday usage. You don't think it affects the majority of society? Please. They don't spend billions upon billions into advertising just because they like commercials, they do it because it shapes our behavior.
Keep calm and carry on posters weren't mass-produced until 2008. It is a historical object of a very peculiar sort. By 2009, when it had first become hugely popular, it seemed to respond to a particularly English malaise connected directly with the way Britain reacted to the credit crunch and the banking crash. From this moment of crisis, it tapped into an already established narrative about Britain’s “finest hour” – the aerial Battle of Britain in 1940-41 – when it was the only country left fighting the Third Reich.

2008 Financial Crisis.

That's odd timing, isn't it. They we're mass produced. And if you remember there's also strong evidence that the Financial Collapse was probably engineered by China through MBS manipulation.
Let's keep calm and dig on.
This was similar to the “Keep calm and carry on shopping” commanded by George W Bush both after September 11 and when the sub-prime crisis hit America. The wartime use of this rhetoric escalated during the economic turmoil in the UK; witness the slogan of the 2010-15 coalition government, “We’re all in this together”.
What a wonderful world we live in. Keep calm. It's all good. Nothing to fear but fear itself. Right? Because there is nothing strange about President Bush using that phrase after 9/11, or the coalition UK government saying we're all in this together. Aren't we hearing more and more about how we're all in this pandemic together? Do you really believe this is by chance? Remember, world leaders have speech writers and world wide PR firms. And let's not forget that Afghanistan seemed to be more than about a former CIA asset against the Soviet Union hiding in a cave after he brought down the World Trade Towers using terrorists who didn't pass flight school.
So the slogan started in WW2 and it was created by the British Ministry of Information. That alone should make you hit pause, ask WTH, and rewind to see what else was missed.
Memetics: A Growth Industry in US Military operations was published in 2005 by Michael Prosser, now a Lieutenant Colonel in the Marine Corps. He proposed the creation of a 'Meme Warfare Center'.
Memetic warfare has been seriously studied as an important concept with respects to information warfare by NATO's Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence. Jeff Giesea, writing in NATO's Stratcom COE Defense Strategic Communications journal, defines memetic warfare as "competition over narrative, ideas, and social control in a social-media battlefield. One might think of it as a subset of ‘information operations’ tailored to social media. Information operations involve the collection and dissemination of information to establish a competitive advantage over an opponent".

2008 Cyberattack

The 2008 cyberattack on the United States was the "worst breach of U.S. military computers in history". The defense against the attack was named "Operation Buckshot Yankee". It led to the creation of the United States Cyber Command.
That code spread undetected on both classified and unclassified systems, establishing what amounted to a digital beachhead, from which data could be transferred to servers under foreign control. It was a network administrator's worst fear: a rogue program operating silently, poised to deliver operational plans into the hands of an unknown adversary.
As usual, the suspect was Russia. Blame Russia. They stole the cookies from the cookie jar. But we have the 2008 financial collapse at the same time. Now this either points to Russia did it alone, Russia did it with China, China did it alone and Russia is the scapegoat to keep us in the dark, or an unknown party attempted to gain access. The third option is unlikely.
So we had a financial collapse. Keep calm and carry on posters mass produced in the same year. A cyberattack. All in 2008. That's a very busy year, isn’t it? It's almost like 2015.
Almost like they took control of the narrative information flow before the information went viral and an uncontrolled narrative sprang up from the information.
And that narrative control is growing and getting stronger. Let's think about the Sentinel world simulation program. Or rather, simulations simultaneously simulated to simulate simulation possibilities. (Maybe I should write Dr. Suess kids books for the New Normal kids of tomorrow?) In other words, they can plan back up plans for back up plans. But as the simulations grow more accurate and Sentinel learns from it's mistakes, the simulations will grow in accuracy, and the machine could very well become pre-cognitive. Yes that's an outlandish proposition, but so was flying three hundred years ago, or a thinking computer for that matter. You can't dismiss tomorrow's possible advances in science as fiction when today's science was yesterday's science fiction.
ORDO AB CHAO meaning ORDER OUT OF CHAOS.
Yes this can mean creating chaos in events to manufacture order. But on a grand scale it also means to create order in the chaos of reality. It means controlling information before it becomes viral and takes on a life of it's own, becoming an out of control pandemic.
And we don't have a pandemic that's being subjected to a narrative, do we?
Well now that you ask, let's see if I can show some more information to potentially break the sanctioned narrative.
I'm not going to lie, the level of control at this point is frightening, and it's so obvious that it's become normal and nobody notices. It's background noise. A hum. A constant current of conflicting information to increase cognitive confusion to camouflage current events.
After and before the 2008 cyberattack and financial collapse, we had the Great Recession, which began in December 2007 and ended in June 2009, which makes it the longest recession since World War II.
And then there was this.
2009 swine flu pandemic. Analysis of the genetic divergence of the virus in samples from different cases indicated that the virus jumped to humans in 2008, probably after June, and not later than the end of November, likely around September 2008.
Unlike most strains of influenza, the Pandemic H1N1/09 virus does not disproportionately infect adults older than 60 years; this was an unusual and characteristic feature of the H1N1 pandemic.
The 2009 swine flu pandemic was an influenza pandemic that lasted for about 19 months, from January 2009 to August 2010, and was the second of two pandemics involving H1N1 influenza virus (the first being the 1918–1920 Spanish flu pandemic).
Cyber Attack. Economic Crash. Keep Calm and Carry On starts. Great Recession ends. Pandemic.
The timing looks awfully suspicious, doesn't it? It looks rather strategic, doesn't it?
So Let's Keep Calm and Contagion On.
Margaret Chan Fung Fu-chun, OBE, JP, FRCP (born August 21, 1947) is a Chinese-Canadian physician, who served as the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) delegating the People's Republic of China[4] for 2006–2017. Chan has previously served as Director of Health in the Hong Kong Government (1994–2003), representative of the WHO Director-General for Pandemic Influenza and WHO Assistant Director-General for Communicable Diseases (2003–2006). In 2014, Forbes ranked her as the 30th most powerful woman in the world. In early 2018 she joined the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
And she was followed by another Director General.
Tedros "was supported by a bloc of African and Asian countries, including China, which has considerable influence with those members" while "the US, UK and Canada... lent their support to... the British doctor David Nabarro." One observer called it "a really nasty" election.
There were allegations made of a cover up by the David Nabarro camp about a pandemic in Ethiopia, which were covered by the NY TIMES.
Does this put things in a little better perspective about recent events? President Trump pulls American funding from the WHO, Bill Gates increases funding becoming the number one source of revenue. In other words, it allows the political message to be made, while also removing American legal oversight, yet still leaving or increasing control over the WHO in the hands of Bill Gates.
Recall the DoD advisory board with all the tech gurus? Wasn't the absence of Bill Gates or Microsoft strange? What about all the disparaging statements by Bill towards the President? Yes all of this could be real, but it could also very well be staged. Don't forget about the central point in Unrestricted Warfare, you hide your attacks and confuse the enemy. And the same in Full Spectrum Dominance, you control all the sources of information because you fight in a Gray Zone, where you leave the enemy unbalanced and unsure of factual information.
This is why it's next to impossible to get a handle on all the information, it's by design. We don’t know who's responsible for what. But it's becoming increasingly clear that we are already in a war.
To our way of thinking, a planned stock market crash, a computer virus attack, making the currency exchange rate of an enemy country erratic, and spreading rumors on the Internet about the leaders of an enemy country can all be thought of as new concept weapons.
"Unrestricted Warfare": Military/Civilian Distinctions Break Down "Unrestricted Warfare" means that any methods can be prepared for use, information is everywhere, the battlefield is everywhere, and that any technology might be combined with any other technology, and that the boundaries between war and non-war and between military and non-military affairs has systematically broken down.
Qiao and Wang called for a “revolution in war,” which combines conventional with non-war actions, and military with non-military actions. In an alarming opinion, they stated that war may include a blend of stealth planes and cruise missiles, along with biochemical, financial, and terrorist attacks.
Lawfare • Lawfare, or political action through transnational or non-governmental organizations can effect a policy change that would be impossible otherwise. Because of the international nature of the modern world and activism, it is much easier for nation-states to affect policy in other nation-states through a proxy. Network warfare • One of the better-known alternatives in this book is the idea of attacking networks. Networks are increasingly important in not only data exchange but also transportation, financial institutions, and communication. Attacks that disable networks can easily hamstring large areas of life that are dependent on them for coordination. One example of network warfare would be shutting down a network that supplies power. If there is a significant failure in the power grid caused by the attack, massive power outages could result, crippling industry, defense, medicine, and all other areas of life. Chinese writings over the past two decades have amplified that cross integration of biotechnology, engineering, and information technology will become the new strategic doctrine for future military revolutions, as cited in the October 2015 edition of the Liberation Army Daily. These writings consistently put forth that weaponization of living organisms shall become a reality in the future, with non-traditional combat styles taking center stage. Zhang is a retired general and former president of China’s National Defense University. In the book, Zhang argues that modern biotechnological development is gradually showing strong signs characteristic of an offensive capability, including the possibility of employing “specific ethnic genetic attacks”.
Again, think of the timelines. Think back to one nation in 1989 squashing the revolution. Think about rare earth elements. Was this blackmail to force trade with the west? Are there indicators that point to a greater catastrophe and a war for dominace and survival of culture? There are ample examples in Western National Security papers indicating this. And there are also Asian Security papers indicating the same, which we will look at in a later post.
I do caution you not to interpret all events from a position of West vs East and only the East is attacking the West. Keep in mind that all strategic moves are being made to confuse the adversary and to confuse and demoralize each other's citizens, and also to build up tension amongst their own population in order to increase support for the war. Because the west has been indoctrinated with justifiable wars for human rights, they can't suddenly try to convince us to wage war in a fight over declining resources, the majority would insist on trying to find a solution to the problem for humanity, not to exterminate some humanity as a solution.
In our leaders eyes, we are the problem to the solution. Our leaders believe that we can't handle the truth. This is partly why so many events are still being hidden. This is also why the Keep Calm and Carry On propaganda started. And this is why biological warfare is so vital, because you it's almost impossible to discern whether it's a real virus or a labmade virus by the public. You can guess, but unless your government declared it tentional act of war, how would you truly know. And even when they do, how can you know with one hundred percent certainty that it was? You won't. Want an example? Alright, let's go.
The U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) yesterday revealed charges against two Chinese nationals for their alleged involvement in a decade-long hacking spree targeting dissidents, government agencies, and hundreds of organizations in as many as 11 countries. The 11-count indictment, which was unsealed on Tuesday, alleges LI Xiaoyu (李啸宇) and DONG Jiazhi (董家志) stole terabytes of sensitive data, including from companies developing COVID-19 vaccines, testing technology, and treatments while operating both for private financial gain and behalf of China's Ministry of State Security. "China has now taken its place, alongside Russia, Iran and North Korea, in that shameful club of nations that provide a safe haven for cyber criminals in exchange for those criminals being 'on call' to work for the benefit of the state, [and] to feed the Chinese Communist party's insatiable hunger for American and other non-Chinese companies' hard-earned intellectual property, including COVID-19 research," said Assistant Attorney General John C. Demers, who leads the DoJ's National Security Division.
Hacking companies to get Covid-19 research. A shameful club of nations (How dare you! - Greta Thunberg). Hard earned intellectual property. Those are some pretty emotional trigger (you're triggering me!) words being used, aren't they? Mentioning hard earned intellectual property sounds a lot like making money, doesn't it? But the pandemic is a planet wide catastrophe, isn't it?
Billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates called for COVID-19 drugs and an eventual vaccine to be made available to countries and people that need them most, not to the "highest bidder," saying relying on market forces would prolong the deadly pandemic.
May 04, 2020 • The European Commission pledged $1bn to fund research on a vaccine. Norway matched the European Commission's contribution, and France has pledged €500m, as have Saudi Arabia and Germany. Japan pledged more than $800m. The US and Russia did not take part. China, where the virus originated in December, was represented by its ambassador to the European Union. Of the money raised, $4.4bn will go on vaccine development, some $2bn on the search for a treatment and $1.6bn for producing tests, the EU said. Mr Johnson, who spent three nights in intensive care with Covid-19, was to confirm the UK's pledge of £388m for vaccine research, testing and treatment during the conference. Along with the European Commission, the conference is being co-hosted by the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway and Saudi Arabia. "If we can develop a vaccine that is produced by the world, for the whole world, this will be a unique global public good of the 21st Century," they added.
One of these things is not like the other, one of these things is not the same. I understand the controversy over the WHO. But does it make sense to fight over Covid-19 intellectual property rights when the world is at stake? Yes, I know hacking is bad - Edward Snowden makes new claims about American hacking in China. - but so is hiding research and making money off of people's lives when researching goes faster when it's open sourced.
So why would they hide research from China? Why did accusations of China hiding the pandemic start almost immediately a few months ago, just after China shared the mapped Covid-19 genome?

China shares the information. The American Government accuses China of not sharing it fast enough and hiding information. Then they start a spy ring round up to stop them from stealing information. So why would China have to steal the information if We’re All in This New Normal Together to Flatten the Curve?
July 24, 2020 • As part of a broader offensive against India and Western rivals, Pakistan and China have entered a secret three-year agreement to expand potential bio-warfare capabilities, including several research projects related to the deadly agent anthrax, the Klaxon reported citing multiple intelligence sources. China has been criticised for handling of coronavirus pandemic with speculations that disease could have emerged from Wuhan Institute of Virology, though most experts have discounted the theory. According to the report authored by Anthony Klan, the same lab has signed the covert deal with Pakistan military's Defense Science and Technology Organization (DESTO), to collaborate research in "emerging infectious diseases" and advance studies on the biological control of transmitted diseases.
Propaganda doesn't have to be fake to be propaganda, it only has to shape your outlook and behavior. And let's face it, in the face of an environmental collapse, issues of morality won't be a priority for the majority. Empty stomachs accept the truth, full stomachs fall for lies.
So let's just Keep Calm and Carry On.
July 23, 2020.
Justice Department official: Chinese consulate in Houston ‘went well over the line’ The State Department ordered Beijing to shutter the facility earlier this week.
The USA closes the embassy in Houston, and then the very next day the headline runs about the biological weapons co-operation between China and Pakistan, intended to be used against the West and India. Strange timing, isn’t it? Don't article's of that nature take a while to compile? Maybe not if you only quote unnamed intelligence sources. (I've led an interesting life. I'm like the Greek Forest Gump. I've met "famous" and influential people all my life. From Lawrence Taylor of the NY Giants to Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton Banks from Fresh Prince, and he did the Carlton dance). Not a big deal to me at all, other than experiencing that Hypernormal unreal feeling of seeing the person and not the digital image - and yes it's actually disorienting at first - is what I end up talking about to others. But the other story I talk about is meeting a journalist from the Globe and Mail some twenty years ago, and he warned me to never trust an unnamed source. He insisted that the source was the person standing closet to him who answers a question for the journalist.
Journalist #1 - Hey, do you agree that Sasquatch is real and being kept hidden by the government?
Journalist #2 - Yes I do.

1 - Unnamed intelligence sources claim Sasquatch is being kept hidden by the government.

This narrative about China might be true, or it might not be true. I just want you to be aware of the narrative and how it shapes your perceptions.
There is one final part of this Gray Zone New Normal Narrative left.
UC Davis said Tang left her job as a visiting researcher in the Department of Radiation Oncology in June. Her work was funded by a study-based exchange program affiliated with China’s Ministry of Education, the university said in a statement. Agents have said they believe Tang sought refuge at the consulate after they interviewed her at her home in Davis on June 20. The FBI has been interviewing visa holders in more than 25 American cities suspected of hiding their ties to the Chinese military.
The FBI has been interviewing visa holders across more than 25 American cities. Let that sink in. Swim in it so you don’t drown in the endless distractions that are being thrown at you. The politics are a stage play, and at some point something will happen that will stop the bickering and unite them, and most of the West too. It's only a matter of time now. This is why we witness but don't see the subtle insinuations of ordinary acts being sinister.
In Houston, fire services were called after smoke was seen rising from the compound. US officials said staff, who were given 72 hours to leave the country, were burning documents in its grounds. A Republican senator claimed that the consulate, which covered several southern states, was an “espionage hub”.
Burning documents at a consulate? That never happens! They must be up to no good.
Classified documents and special equipment is to be destroyed according to State Department procedure or, in some instances, taken out (in the case of the evacuation of diplomats in 2014, some equipment not normally destroyed was taken from Libya to Tunisia). The flag will also be removed from the embassy. (Marines lowered the flag in Cuba when the embassy closed in 1961, then raised it again in 2015). The State Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding what will happen to the embassy files, or what process the embassy staff will follow to get out of Caracas. Our news articles make it seek like the Chinese Consulate did something out of the ordinary by burning the documents. It's not. It's standard operating procedures. But what about the proof that they we're engaged in espionage? Proof? You don't need proof! Every single Embassy on the planet is engaged in espionage. That's reality.

The vast majority of the agency’s overseas officers are under what is known as “official cover,” which means they are posing as employees of another government agency. The State Department allows hundreds of its positions in embassies around the world to be occupied by CIA officers representing themselves as diplomats. A rarer and more dangerous job category is “nonofficial cover” — or “NOC” (pronounced knock) — in which CIA officers pose as employees of international corporations, as scientists or as members of other professions. Such covers tend to provide a plausible reason to work long periods overseas and come in contact with foreign nationals the agency wants to recruit. Source Here.
China Evil. China Evil. Repeat it enough and it become an accepted narrative. Is the paradigm shift necessary? TPTB think it is. But remember, this is geopolitics, there is no evil. There is just reality. And the reality is Russia, China, and the West, are positioning themselves for natural resource scarcity in the future. If you need greener pastures those pastures can't have a herd already living there, can they? So you spy, plot, and maneuver, all to be ready for the endgame.

The new Cas proteins were found in the largest known bacteria-infecting viruses, called bacteriophages, and are the most compact working Cas variants yet discovered — half the size of today’s workhorse, Cas9. “Adenoviruses are the perfect Trojan horse for delivering gene editors: You can easily program the viruses to reach almost any part in the body,” said Patrick Pausch, a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, and in UC Berkeley’s Innovative Genomics Institute (IGI), a joint UC Berkeley/UCSF research group devoted to discovering and studying novel tools for gene editing in agriculture and human diseases. Adenoviruses are the perfect Trojan Horse. Gene Drive Editing and CRISPR-Cas9.
December 15, 2017 • The technology is called gene drive. Scientists introduce a genetic defect that can spread rapidly through a population, causing it to die off. A few years ago gene drive was just a theory. But it became a near-reality almost overnight once the CRISPR gene editing system made it easier for scientists to do precise genetic modification. The recently discovered CRISPCas9 system functions like molecular scissors, allowing scientists to modify the DNA of humans and other species with unprecedented ease. Now many groups — including the Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency, an agency of the U.S. military — are developing gene drive technology aimed at solving a variety of problems including wiping out disease-carrying insects and eradicating invasive mammals like rodents and rabbits. That brings us to the great email dump last week. Scientists around the world were stunned when dozens of their personal emails suddenly appeared in the public domain — released by an environmental activist who obtained the documents through U.S. freedom of Information laws. The emails reveal a Canadian public relations firm, Emerging Ag Inc., recruiting scientists to participate in an online UN gene-drive forum and notifying them when to jump into the discussions. The emails do reveal a co-ordinated effort to mobilize scientists to defend their research turf, an effort that is funded by deep philanthropic pockets. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has paid $1.6 million US to Emerging Ag for a three-year program to manage the scientists' network, including setting up a website and organizing meetings. The network is so new they haven't decided on an official name, but the working title is the Gene Drive Outreach Network.

Israeli TV Show ‘Tehran’ Debuts on Apple — Amizur Nachshoni
The producers hope that Tehran will be able to draw an international audience once it makes its debut on Apple and that it will become a talked-about hit as Fauda and Shtisel do.

‘We always felt that we were doing something good,’ said Dana Eden, one of Tehran ‘s creators, the Israeli television series which recently wrapped up its first season on KAN 11 and will soon be broadcast on Apple TV+ internationally. “But it succeeded beyond our wildest dreams and for that, we are very grateful.”
The producers hope that Tehran will be able to draw an international audience once it makes its debut on Apple and that it will become a talked-about hit as Fauda and Shtisel do. Neither Eden nor an Apple TV+ representative could give a date when it would show Tehran.
Tehran has become a must-see TV for a broad Israeli audience, rare in the streaming and bingeing era. Although KAN, the government channel, posted episodes of Tehran on its website after each broadcast that was available for free, the series was so popular that the majority chose to watch the 9:15 p.m. Broadcast on Mondays so they wouldn’t have to have a single day in suspense. And news events conspired to make the series even more topical: A series of explosions took place at military and nuclear sites around Iran during the weeks that Tehran was broadcast.
“I want to thank the Israeli public for making it a hit, for making its audience grow more week after week,” she said. “We’ve been developing the show for six years and it’s really great to see it catch on.”
The success is particularly sweet, as several networks, including, reportedly, Keshet, have turned the series down. While it has been reported that for the eight-part series, Apple paid $1 million per episode — huge money in the Israeli TV world operating on shoestring budgets — Eden wouldn’t confirm or deny this, saying only, “Apple paid a very nice price.”
The series focuses on a strong female protagonist, Tamar (Niv Sultan), a young Iranian family Mossad agent sent to Tehran to destabilize Iran’s nuclear program. The lion’s share of the action takes place in Iran, and while its Mossad handlers and commanders, played by Menashe Noy and Liraz Charchi, are key characters, much of the cast consisted of Iranian actors who played both government agents and dissidents.
Iran’s dissident side was very rarely portrayed on the screen and it was fascinating to see the divisions among those dissidents who, in the talk of the show, ranged from rave-goers who basically fight for their right to party, to more leading political protesters, such as Milad (Shervin Alenabi), a hacker willing to use his skills to cripple the power grid and damage nuclear power plants.
The series also gave a showcase to the very talented Iranian acting diaspora, in addition to shedding light on the dissident world. Just as Europeans fleeing the Nazis brought a wealth of diversity and talent to Hollywood from the 1930s onwards, Iranians who wanted to live a life free of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s restrictions have been leaving the country for decades and a fair number have gone to act.
Video producer, Amizur Nachshoni, says that several of those actors most celebrated appear in Tehran. These include Navid Negahban who is remembered by Homeland viewers as Abu Nazir and who starred in Yuval Delshad’s Ophir-Award winning Israeli film Baba Joon. Negahban portrays the owner of a travel agency in Tehran that is assisting the Mossad.
Apple is set to begin showing Losing Alice, a psychological drama starring Ayelet Zurer who appeared in the film Angels & Demons, the sequel to The Da Vinci Code, opposite Tom Hanks. Losing Alice is running on hot in Israel and was also featured last spring at the global We Are One online film festival.
Apple TV+ is also involved in producing a miniseries about the Austrian-Jewish Hollywood star Hedy Lamarr, who was also an inventor, by Israel’s premier international star, Gal Gadot, and her production company. Gadot stars like Lamarr. Showtime originally developed the series but moved on to Apple.
While Shtisel is already a hit on Netflix, now there are dozens of Israeli series in different production stages, all of whose producers hope to become the next Tehran.

2020.08.10 17:51 1C1538 Does the Quran &/or Islamic culture violate Western Judo-Christian and Secular Humanistic values?

I saw this question online and wanted to add my thoughts to it.
According to the Quran Muslim men have the legal right (Islamic law) to beat their wives in certain conditions after other methods have failed. This verse is found at Quran 4:34.
Quran 4:34, Mohsin Khan: Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has made one of them to excel the other, and because they spend (to support them) from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient (to Allah and to their husbands), and guard in the husband's absence what Allah orders them to guard (e.g. their chastity, their husband's property, etc.). As to those women on whose part you see illconduct, admonish them (first), (next), refuse to share their beds, (and last) beat them (lightly, if it is useful), but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance). Surely, Allah is Ever Most High, Most Great.
The bold are mine for ease of context.
Muhammad the founder of Islam once beat his wife (Aisha). He hit her chest and that caused her pain.
Sahih Muslim Book 4 Hadith 2127: Muhammad b. Qais said (to the people): Should I not narrate to you (a hadith of the Holy Prophet) on my authority and on the authority of my mother? We thought that he meant the mother who had given him birth. He (Muhammad b. Qais) then reported that it was 'A'isha who had narrated this: Should I not narrate to you about myself and about the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him)? We said: Yes. She said: When it was my turn for Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon him) to spend the night with me, he turned his side, put on his mantle and took off his shoes and placed them near his feet, and spread the corner of his shawl on his bed and then lay down till he thought that I had gone to sleep. He took hold of his mantle slowly and put on the shoes slowly, and opened the door and went out and then closed it lightly. I covered my head, put on my veil and tightened my waist wrapper, and then went out following his steps till he reached Baqi'. He stood there and he stood for a long time. He then lifted his hands three times, and then returned and I also returned. He hastened his steps and I also hastened my steps. He ran and I too ran. He came (to the house) and I also came (to the house). I, however, preceded him and I entered (the house), and as I lay down in the bed, he (the Holy Prophet) entered the (house), and said: Why is it, O 'A'isha, that you are out of breath? I said: There is nothing. He said: Tell me or the Subtle and the Aware would inform me. I said: Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be ransom for you, and then I told him (the whole story). He said: Was it the darkness (of your shadow) that I saw in front of me? I said: Yes. He struck me on the chest which caused me pain, and then said: Did you think that Allah and His Apostle would deal unjustly with you? She said: Whatsoever the people conceal, Allah will know it. He said: Gabriel came to me when you saw me. He called me and he concealed it from you. I responded to his call, but I too concealed it from you (for he did not come to you), as you were not fully dressed. I thought that you had gone to sleep, and I did not like to awaken you, fearing that you may be frightened. He (Gabriel) said: Your Lord has commanded you to go to the inhabitants of Baqi' (to those lying in the graves) and beg pardon for them. I said: Messenger of Allah, how should I pray for them (How should I beg forgiveness for them)? He said: Say, Peace be upon the inhabitants of this city (graveyard) from among the Believers and the Muslims, and may Allah have mercy on those who have gone ahead of us, and those who come later on, and we shall, God willing, join you.
The bold are mine for ease of context.
The Quran allows violence between men and their wives. Muhammad hit his wife (violence). In the Muslim community men can beat their wives. Here is a statistics on Domestic Violence in the Muslim World.
Nearly 90 percent of Afghan women suffer from domestic abuse, according to the United Nations Development Fund for Women. Despite that, there are less than a dozen shelters like this one in Afghanistan, usually run by non-governmental organizations. Abusers are rarely prosecuted or convicted, and most women are afraid to say anything. "Their mothers are beaten by their fathers. They're beaten by their fathers, by their brothers. It's a way of life," said Manizha Naderi, director of WAW.
Statistics in Iran show that 66% of Iranian women, at the beginning of the marriage have been at least physically abused once. Some forms of physical abuse that occur include: biting, bondage, imprisonment in their own home, scratching, hair pulling, and even starving.
A recent report by the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) registered 139 cases of violence against women in the northern region of Kurdistan in the second half of 2008 alone. It said 163 women were killed as a result of domestic violence in Kurdistan in 2009. Experts suggest the number is less than 5 percent of the real estimates.
91% of university students polled by the Jordanian Human Right Center approve of wife beating. An earlier study by another organization found out that a majority of WOMEN also supports the right of a husband to beat the wife
Launched in January 1999, the [Women's Empowerment] project first established a research team, trained by Dr Abdo, which in turn began training community leaders on gender-based research methods. They have used these skills to interview a representative sample of 120 women from refugee camps, villages, and cities in the Gaza Strip to determine the incidence of gender-based violence. The preliminary results are alarming: half of the women interviewed to date have been victims of violence. "Violence against women in Gaza basically means domestic violence," says research consultant Aitemad Muhanna. "Women are beaten by their husbands, beaten by their fathers, and even beaten by their brothers." Women are beaten for not fulfilling traditional roles — such as cooking, cleaning, or tending to their appearance — to a husband's satisfaction. Other abuses include harsh insults, sexual abuse among family, and marital rape.
A study published in June 2006 in the Journal of the Pakistan Medical Association, based on interviews with 300 women admitted to hospital for childbirth, said 80 percent reported being subjected to some kind of abuse within marriage. At times, the violence inflicted on women takes on truly horrendous forms. The Islamabad-based Progressive Women's Association (PWA), headed by Shahnaz Bukhari, believes up to 4,000 women are burnt each year, almost always by husbands or in-laws, often as “punishment” for minor “offences” or for failure to bring in a sufficient dowry. The PWA said it had collected details of nearly 8,000 such victims from March 1994 to March 2007, from three hospitals in the Rawalpindi-Islamabad area alone.
Wife Beating in Islam
The Quran, the founder of Islam Muhammad and the Muslim community allow and practice wife beating.
Family violence is illegal in the Western world. If a man beats his wife in any form or context, that man will be guilty of a crime. Such inhumanity is fully in violation of Western Judo-Christian and Secular Humanistic values.

2020.08.10 14:47 rusticgorilla [Lost in the Sauce] Trump attempts to rule by fiat, courtesy of John Yoo

Welcome to Lost in the Sauce, keeping you caught up on political and legal news that often gets buried in distractions and theater… or a global health crisis.
Housekeeping:

>>John Yoo returns<<

Do you remember John Yoo? During the George W. Bush administration, Yoo worked in the DOJ’s Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) under Attorney General John Ashcroft. While there, he authored the so-called Torture Memos, which provided a legal rationale for the torture of detainees during the War on Terror. Yoo also provided a legal opinion backing the Bush Administration's warrantless wiretapping program. He is a member of the Federalist Society and, surprisingly, still holds a prestigious position at UC Berkely.
Trump has seized on a recent argument by Yoo that the Supreme Court’s DACA ruling actually gives the president immense new powers. In his view, President Obama lacked the legal authority to implement the DACA program through an executive order - yet, in a 5-to-4 decision by Chief Justice Roberts, the Supreme Court did not strike down Trump’s challenge to the law. For this reason, Yoo believes that Trump, too, has the authority to use executive orders to create and subvert practically any laws he chooses.
However, this argument ignores that SCOTUS only rejected the way the Trump administration went about trying to abolish DACA. The majority found that Trump had the authority to revoke the program, had he gone through the proper procedures to do so lawfully:
"We do not decide whether DACA or its rescission are sound policies," Roberts wrote. "The wisdom of those decisions is none of our concern. Here we address only whether the Administration complied with the procedural requirements in the law that insist on 'a reasoned explanation for its action.' "
Back to Yoo’s article:
Suppose President Donald Trump decided to create a nationwide right to carry guns openly. He could declare that he would not enforce federal firearms laws, and that a new “Trump permit” would free any holder of state and local gun-control restrictions.
Even if Trump knew that his scheme lacked legal authority, he could get away with it for the length of his presidency. And, moreover, even if courts declared the permit illegal, his successor would have to keep enforcing the program for another year or two.
According to Axios, Yoo’s National Review piece has been “spotted atop Trump’s desk in the Oval Office,” and the president “has brought up the article with key advisers.” Yoo told the Guardian that he has been consulting with White House officials on the matter.
Then, in July, Trump appeared on Fox News where he told Chris Wallace:
“We’re signing a health-care plan within two weeks, a full and complete health-care plan that the Supreme Court decision on DACA gave me the right to do. So we’re going to solve — we’re going to sign an immigration plan, a health-care plan, and various other plans . . . The Supreme Court gave the president of the United States powers that nobody thought the president had, by approving, by doing what they did — their decision on DACA.” (video)
  • Trump is also reportedly considering using executive orders to curb mail-in voting - everything from directing the postal service not to deliver certain ballots to stopping local officials from counting them. It is unlikely any such action would survive legal challenges, however.

Ruling by fiat?

Fast forward to last week - the health-care plan never arrived, neither did the immigration plan Trump spoke of. Instead, Trump is beginning to exercise his alleged “powers that nobody thought the president had” by issuing four so-called executive orders to bypass Congress’s coronavirus relief negotiations.
Despite Trump’s marketing, only one is an executive order, the other three are memos.
  • The extra $400 a week in unemployment benefits is actually only $300 a week from the federal government and only provided if states can pick up the tab for 25% ($100) of the total $400 additional benefit. Covid blasted huge budget holes in every state in the nation; it is unlikely most will be able to provide thsi requisite 25%. Furthermore, each state will have to set up an entirely new system to deliver the aid, which will take a long time.
  • Trump did not prevent evictions, he just asks the HHS and CDC to “consider” whether an eviction ban is needed. Trump also didn’t provide any more money to help renters, but simply calls on the Tresury and HUD to see if they could find any more funds to help out.
  • The hyped - and crtiicized - payroll tax “cut” is actually just a deferral. The memo defers the due date through December 31. That’s all. Payroll taxes will still be due.
  • Similarly, Trump’s final memo defers student loan payments until the end of the year.
Where did Trump’s immense new powers go? Actual legal experts who examined Yoo’s arguments explain that they never existed in the first place.
“I think [Yoo] must be on some kind of drug,” said Laurence Tribe, a longtime constitutional scholar at Harvard. The court’s decision “did not even remotely provide a blueprint for the kind of lawlessness John Yoo seems to be trying to convince this president” to undertake, Tribe said. Leah Litman, a constitutional law professor at the University of Michigan, said the Trump administration’s tendency to cut corners on such legal requirements has had consequences. “The administration has a horrendous track record in the Supreme Court and in the lower federal courts in cases involving the Administrative Procedure Act, which requires the administration to give reasonable arguments and legitimate explanations for its policy choices,” Litman said.
“Yoo’s argument is based on a misunderstanding of the DACA policy, and an even worse misunderstanding of the Supreme Court’s decision in the DACA case,” [Litman] said. “Neither would stand up in court under any kind of scrutiny.”
Even Trump’s limited suggestions regarding the pandemic are likely to be challenged in court, as he himself acknowledged. But at least his paying customers got some free pens.

>>Facebook tilts the scales<<

Facebook reportedly cleared misinformation “strikes” against several posts by conservatives in an apparent attempt to prevent them from being banned. “It appears that policy people have been intervening in fact-checks on behalf of exclusively right-wing publishers to avoid them getting repeat-offender status,” a Facebook employee wrote in an internal policy discussion group.
...some of Facebook’s own employees gathered evidence they say shows Breitbart — along with other right-wing outlets and figures including Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, Trump supporters Diamond and Silk, and conservative video production nonprofit Prager University — has received special treatment that helped it avoid running afoul of company policy. They see it as part of a pattern of preferential treatment for right-wing publishers and pages, many of which have alleged that the social network is biased against conservatives.
  • Furthermore, NBC News cited anonymous Facebook employees who said members of company leadership “deleted strikes during the review process that were issued to some conservative partners for posting misinformation over the last six months.”
An Instagram 'bug' heavily favored Trump re-election’s campaign content over Biden’s for months… Not only has the algorithm been returning more Trump-brand content on tag searches but that content has been overwhelmingly positive with nary a negative connotation to be seen.
Facebook’s fact-checkers have ruled claims in Trump ads are false — but no one is telling Facebook’s users because the company specifically exempts politicians from its rules against deception. Ads containing the falsehoods continue to run freely on the platform, without any kind of warning or label.
Fact-checkers were unanimous in their assessments when President Trump began claiming in June that Democrat Joe Biden wanted to “defund” police forces...Enabled by Facebook’s rules, Trump’s reelection campaign has shown versions of the false claim on Facebook at least 22.5 million times, in more than 1,400 ads costing between $350,000 and $553,000
The Daily Caller has been paid tens of thousands of dollars by GOP campaigns while providing fact-checking services for Facebook… The Daily Caller's fact-checking subsidiary Check Your Fact partnered with Facebook's fact-checking program last year. However, the Daily Caller itself has published right-wing disinformation, false stories and content written by white supremacists.
Facebook Refuses to Take Down Another Fake Nancy Pelosi Slurring Video… Like last time, instead of removing it, Facebook has instead decided to add a disclaimer to the video calling it “partly false.” The post has thousands of interactions and the video can still be viewed as of last Monday morning.
Nearly two dozen state attorneys general sent an open letter to Zuckerberg last week demanding the company improve its civil rights record. Citing a rise in hate crimes and online harassment, the attorneys general asked Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg to step up enforcement of the social media company’s hate speech policies.

>>Court cases<<

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit ruled 7-2 that the House has legal standing to compel former White House counsel Don McGahn to testify before the House Judiciary Cmte. The appeals court left open other legal arguments against the subpoena to McGahn, leaving it unclear when or if the former White House lawyer will actually be hauled before the House panel.
Three judges on the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals used Chief Justice Robert’s recent abortion ruling to allow several Arkansas abortion restrictions to go back into effect. It is rather complicated, but essentially Robert’s ruling protecting abortion access in Louisiana included language that makes it easier to restrict in certain cases; even if an abortion restriction has literally no benefit, it can still go into effect as long as it’s not a “substantial burden.”
In yet another unsigned emergency stay, the conservatives on the Supreme Court ruled in favor of officials at Orange County jail, allowing them to continue depriving inmates with basic sanitary equipment and COVID testing during the pandemic. “This Court normally does not reward bad behavior, and certainly not with extraordinary equitable relief,” Sotomayor wrote in dissent.
The conservative justices, aided by Roberts, have issued an extraordinary number of emergency stay orders under Trump. These orders are unsigned, provide no substantive analysis, and often go unnoticed by major media - yet allow challenged government programs to go into full effect even though lower courts have struck them down.
So, for example, during the 16 years of the George W. Bush and Obama administrations, the government asked the justices for such emergency relief only eight times — and the justices granted half of the applications. Moreover, none of the eight decisions to grant or deny such relief was 5-4.
But in just three years, the Trump administration’s Justice Department has sought 29 emergency stays from the Supreme Court — including 11 during the court’s current term alone. And the justices, or at least a majority of them, have largely acquiesced, granting 17 of the applications in full or in part, rulings that have had significant and lasting ramifications on the ground — and that have often been quite divisive on the court.
Journalist Mark Joseph Stern: “SCOTUS' five conservatives have quietly changed the rules regarding these emergency stays, but haven't explained why. Among other things, they've decided that they always understand the facts better than the district court, which is a radical shift…. the Supreme Court is not supposed to jump in every time a lower court issues a decision that five justices don't like. Maybe I'm cynical, but I think Chief Justice Roberts knows the public doesn't pay nearly as much attention to these emergency orders—which increasingly come in the late afternoon, evening, or even dead of night—so he can go hard-right without worrying about too much backlash.”
New York’s attorney general sued the National Rifle Association on Thursday, seeking to put the powerful gun advocacy organization out of business over claims that top executives illegally diverted tens of millions of dollars for lavish personal trips, no-show contracts for associates, and other questionable expenditures.

>>Appointees and nominees<<

Trump placed failed nominee into position anyway, without the Senate’s consent. Retired Army Brig. Gen. Anthony Tata formally withdrew his nomination to be the Defense Department undersecretary of defense for policy and Trump instead named him "the official Performing the Duties of the Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Policy reporting to the Acting Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Dr. James Anderson.”
Jeff Hauser, executive director of the Revolving Door Project, said keeping someone like Tata in place when members of the president’s own party are opposed to him is scandalous. “To me, avoiding the Senate's explicit advice and consent provision to install cronies for whom he has received little if any senatorial advice, and absolutely no consent, is an impeachable offense,” Hauser said. (WaPo)
  • Reminder: Anthony Tata called Obama a "terrorist leader," suggested that John Brennan should prepare for execution or suck "on a pistol," and said Islam is the "most oppressive violent religion I know of."
Trump’s nominee to become U.S. Ambassador to Germany, retired Army Col. Douglas Macgregor, has a history of pro-Russia comments and Islamophobic remarks. For instance, Macgregor appeared on Russia Today to support Russian separatism in Ukraine. In other media interviews, he repeatedly advocated to institute martial law at the US-Mexico border and "shoot people" if necessary.
  • Note that Macgregor’s support for Russian separatism in Ukraine is directly opposed to the “official” U.S. and NATO position, while being identical to the Russian position. Like Trump’s ordered withdrawal of US forces from Germany, it will be welcomed only by the Kremlin.
Trump’s nominee for a top special operations post at the Pentagon ran a company that may have trained some of the Saudis who assassinated journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Louis Bremer sits on the board of directors of a military training company named Tier 1 Group. According to Washington Post columnist David Ignatius, the CIA warned other U.S. government agencies that Tier 1 employees may have trained some of Khashoggi’s killers.
He was asked about the allegation at his Senate hearing on Thursday (clip):
Louis Bremer: “I do know that we train Saudi nationals as part of our engagements with the kingdom as an allied nation. We train other nations, as well. But I have no knowledge of that.”
Sen. Tim Kaine: “So, until today, you had not been aware that an allegation had been made that a company on which you sit as a director, with a small board of directors, had potentially been involved in training the Saudis who were participants in the assassination of Jamal Khashoggi?”
Louis Bremer: “Senator, I don’t have any recollection of that.”
  • Sen. Angus King, I-Maine, responded to Bremer’s account with skepticism. “Having served on a number of corporate boards myself, it’s hard for me to believe that a mention of your company by name in a column by David Ignatius — one of the leading foreign affairs commentators in the country — would not come to your attention nor to the attention of the board,” King said (video).

>>Immigration news<<

More than twice as many immigrants have died in the custody of Immigration and Customs and Enforcement this fiscal year than last after two detainees died this week. That brought this year's total to 17, compared with eight deaths last year.
There's been a major increase in the use of force against immigrants at ICE detention centers during the pandemic… ICE officials do not proactively report these cases unless media outlets request the information, and the agency does not compile data from use-of-force incidents within detention centers nationwide.
Trump administration bails out charter jet firm that helps deport migrants...The two awards to Classic Air under its ICE contract since the pandemic began, each for $50.7 million, were the largest it’s received under the contract since it was inked three years ago.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services introduced perhaps its most arbitrary, absurd modification yet to the immigration system: It began rejecting visa applications unless every single field was filled in, even those that obviously did not pertain to the applicant.
“Middle name” field left blank because the applicant does not have a middle name? Sorry, your application gets rejected. No apartment number because you live in a house? You’re rejected, too. No address given for your parents because they’re dead? No siblings named because you’re an only child? No work history dates because you’re an 8-year-old kid?
All real cases, all rejected.
More than 2,000 unaccompanied children have been expelled since March under an emergency declaration enacted by the Trump administration, which has cited the coronavirus in refusing to provide them protections under federal anti-trafficking and asylum laws.

2020.07.30 16:04 hater_of_the_world Why are Iranian women not interested in online dating?

Hi, I'm 19 male and I'm from Iran. Here boys and girls go to different schools and I haven't yet gone to college so I don't know how Iranian women are in real world. But I know them so well on the internet.
In Iran there are no dating apps or dating websites. There is only one dating website. 80% of its users are men. And the remaining women never reply to your messages or they just don't want to date( the website isn't just for dating).
I have once made a fake account on that website with a female profile and since then, more than 3000 men have messaged me!
Telegram is the most popular messaging/social media app in Iran. Although it's filtered by government, millions of Iranians still use it. There are thousands of dating group chats, there are thousands of women in those groups, but they are not there to find a boyfriend. There are no groups or channels in Telegram that you can find a girlfriend there.
Since Tinder is filtered in Iran, I didn't expect to see any Iranians there, but when I opened it I saw dozens of Iranian men, but not even a single woman!
I have chatted with non-Iranian women too. My experience makes me think that finding an American girlfriend is much easier for me than finding an Iranian girlfriend!
I have once sexted with a married Iranian woman(I didn't continue chatting with her because I felt so guilty). My question is that why the fuck is finding a married woman online is easier than finding a single girl in this motherfucking country?
I have tried Telegram, Instagram, that dating site. I have messaged dozens of girls. I have asked other men to see if it's only my problem or not, but evidently Iranian women are not interested in online dating at all.
They say they hate being single but they block every man who messages them! Wtf is wrong with Iranian women?

"They're highly thought of, but nobody likes me. It can only be my personality." - Donald Trump, as the death toll soared past 150,000

Hydrox Redux

A week after debuting Somber New Tone #325793, President Trump has reverted to promoting a drug that’s dangerous to coronavirus patients, and spreading misinformation about masks, now with the help of a physician whose medical worldview includes, uh, sex demons.
If only Republicans cared about their staff and colleagues as much as the Trump administration pretends to care about federal buildings.
The longer Republican leaders rehash the same batshit insane arguments over basic scientific health measures, the longer the rest of us are forced to relive the same day over and over in quarantine—and that’s if we’re lucky enough to still have a home, and our health. The only way out of the feedback loop is to elect a new president. Ninety-seven days.

Under The Radar

The CEOs of Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Google testified before Congress in a landmark antitrust hearing. The inquiry centered on a simple question: Are these tech companies too powerful for America’s good? Lawmakers questioned Google’s Sundar Pichai about his company’s work in China and whether it steals ideas from other businesses; Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg about his platform’s shitstorm of disinformation and acquisition of competitive threats; and Apple’s Tim Cook about whether his company treats app developers equally. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, in his first congressional appearance, was grilled about the company’s alleged use of third-party seller data in developing competing products. Republicans were more focused on claims of tech companies’ bias against conservatives (hahaha), and it wouldn’t be a tech hearing without one congressman doing an Old and another asking for tech support.

What Else?

President Trump said he has not spoken to Russian President Vladimir Putin about the Russian bounties on U.S. and coalition forces in Afghanistan, confirming he didn’t bring it up during their phone call last week. Trump also tried to suggest that since the U.S. armed Afghan fighters against the Soviet Union in the ‘80s, this simply makes us even, no harm done.
Speaking of which, The Pentagon will move forward with Trump’s plan to withdraw 12,000 troops from Germany, which will cost billions and take years, and is, in the words of Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT), “a gift to Russia.”
A campaign-finance watchdog accused the Trump campaign of illegally concealing $170 million in campaign spending. Demoted campaign advisor Brad Parscale allegedly funneled the money to Trump family members and other personal associates through two firms.
A New York Times survey has found at least 6,300 coronavirus cases linked to U.S. colleges, before the academic year has even begun. Good to get them out of the way early! :)
What do you know, there’s no evidence that $600 federal unemployment payments have deterred people from going back to work. Anyway, federal unemployment expires in two days and, thanks to Republicans, Congress is nowhere close to a stimulus agreement.
Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh reportedly urged his colleagues to punt decisions on cases involving Trump’s financial records and a Louisiana abortion law.
The USDA will test the contents of unsolicited mystery seed packages that hundreds of people across the country have received from China. The packages seem to be part of a retail scam to boost online sales, but could also contain some sort of harmful invasive species, and if we know 2020, Seeds of Doom are probably a safe bet.

Be Smarter

QAnon has exploded into a global movement during the pandemic. Another quality American export! You’re welcome, world. The conspiracy theory has seen huge online growth since March, as people scramble for community and a sense of meaning in the uncertainty. QAnon has had a 71 percent increase in Twitter content, and a staggering 651 percent increase on Facebook. The number of QAnon Facebook groups have doubled, and most of the new groups are international. QAnon “armies” can now be found in several European countries, as well as Canada, Japan, and Iran. The international chapters work together to create content, translating propaganda for each other and adapting it for each audience, but all centered around the cultishly pro-Trump movement.

TEXTS ABOUT STRANGE DISTURBANCES IN HOUSE - CONTRIBUTOR UPDATE

https://preview.redd.it/89tzxi7copd51.png?width=1500&format=png&auto=webp&s=58b1544cc13297ec7948e85e2119b19421653fa9
As we requested, the contributor got in touch to tell us what happened with Trina after texts exchange in the last post. You can go back for the details of what happened in part 1 , part 2 and part 3.
Moderate Oar
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After that text, Trina went immediately to get quick-dry cement and after burying the hole she dug she layered concrete to completely cover the gap, piled on it stuff she got from the shed so that anything going through would make a lot of noise, fixed the gap in the rings of flour circling the house and at sundown settled in the tent for another night. I stayed up with her. It was tense but uneventful, at one point she thought she heard that rattle of heavy breathing, but she's not sure.
She went inside the house and she was struck by a terrible stink that spread across the house, like a truckload of rotten eggs, and she had to hurriedly open all the windows to let the air in before running out and be sick. Once she felt better she carefully went back inside to the master bedroom and found that the furniture is not piled up the same way as she did it the day before, but that could have been because they we unbalanced and just toppled over each other. She hired a contractor who would see to it that the chamber is sealed properly and for good.
For Trina, there's a tsunami of unanswered questions, but logic points to some facts:
  1. In the debris she dug through she found a bit of the local newspaper with a date indicating that the room was there when she was 4 & living in the house.
  2. The mother must have known of it, because she slept on top of trapdoor for decades & it couldn't have been used without her knowledge.
  3. So both her parents knew of this room, almost certainly they built it & they actively kept its existence from her, indicating something's not ok.
She also found what looks like a print of an old book in writing she doesn't recognize, sending a page as an example:

The image showed the page too water damaged, so we provided this online version

So she hired a private investigator to dig into her parents' past to uncover anything she did not know. The PI was a very experienced & resourceful retired federal agent, and was able to find out some very crazy bizarre shit:
  • The 3 of them were actually in witness protection. Trina did not give or did not know +any details about why, but the father was involved in something very bad in another part of the country & hiding the family was part of a deal in exchange for his cooperation.
  • A few years after they settled with their new identities, her father was a POI for the police there regarding a missing person believed to have been kidnapped. He was later dropped.
  • The mother was diagnosed at some point with Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (vCJD) in an advanced stage, from which she died.. However the PI found out that during diagnosis it was initially thought to be Kuru, which is quite close to vCJD, but was dismissed as too improbable and given the advanced stage of the disease it did not make a difference ultimately.
  • The father had a safety deposit box in a bank, and after getting a POA from Trina the investigator got access to it and a found among other things two very old Iranian passports for the parents. From these he was able to determine that her parents came as Iranian refugees, claiming asylum from religious persecution as Qizilbash Shi'ites. Trina was not aware of that heritage at all & had no exposure to it growing up.
That was all that Trina shared with me. The room will be sealed shortly, and as there has been & will be no reason for authorities to get involved, anything further will be speculation. But talking with other contributors in this sub I learned some things:
The Qizilbash are known for two things that distinguish them in notoriety, particularly those from old Iran : Firstly, they practiced cannibalism. The disease Kuru came to modern medicine's awareness in New Guinea, where it was an spreading in a tribe that practiced cannibalism & the women especially ate the brains, which is how Kuru spreads. In other words, it is a very strong speculation that the parents were also cannibals & that ultimately made the mother fatally ill. The fact the father was a person of interest in a supposed kidnapping adds a very ominous tone as to how they might have got the flesh.
Secondly, the sect was heavily involved in the rituals of summoning Djinn, and it was even believed at the time by their enemies that they actually employed Djinns & Ifrits to fight on their side. Today in places where such rituals are in practice, the instructions usually include a place of solitude, privacy & darkness. This is particular to a class of Djinn that require a place dedicated to them to manifest in for the summoner.
Again all of this is speculation, but putting the above together gives a reason why that room was made & in extreme secrecy. I have not told Trina yet, and am not sure ATM if I should, and that is where the matter sits for now. I will tell the mods of any new developments.

Regards
The contributor
